Well, it was a YouTube interview again, which exposed the full account. UFC welterweight star, Stephen Thompson, expressed his thoughts extensively when questioned about his encounter with Conor McGregor in an interview uploaded on the Fight Fluency YouTube channel.

Stephen got a question regarding McGregor, which went like this: “Since we are on the topic of champions, speaking of champions, you were just training and coaching with the former champion Conor McGregor on the Ultimate Fighter 31. I wanted to ask you about that. That was pretty cool to see your cameos on those episodes. How was that entire experience?”

Thompson looked over the moon after hearing the question, as he had quite a long tale to express. He said, “It was a ton of fun and to be honest with you; I wasn’t out there to be a guest coach. I was actually out there filming the Jose Cuervo commercial with Kevin Holland. So filming was over. You know, for our YouTube channel, we decided to go to the PI to get a little content in. Next thing, I hear someone call my name and I looked to my left and here was Conor McGregor. So he said, What’s up my man! How are you doing, man? He was a cool man, very cool.”

With a generous amount of praises and huzzahs for McGregor, ‘Wonderboy’ swoon over the entire incident. He shed light on the moment when he met McGregor out of the blue. His notions weren’t over, as he had a lot more to say considering this gushed over anecdote.

How did Thompson become a guest coach?

Being so hyped up about the matter, the 40-year-old laid it on thick, highlighting how he got the chance to become a guest mentor for McGregor’s team at The Ultimate Fighter  31 .

He said, “Any way we chatted for a little, so we were actually supposed to leave that night. We get a call from Conor. He said, hey man, we would love to have you as a guest. I was like, say no more friend! Let’s make it happen. It was really cool to his mindset and teaching ability. Very good teacher! An inspiration for those guys who are up and coming. Just to be a part of that was awesome.”
