Guess what? ‘Eagle’s cousin’s next bout has been announced. It will be at the Bellator 300 PPV event in San Diego, California.
The #6 Bellator Lightweight will clash against #4 Brent Primus to defend his title for the second time. What’s more – this announcement went viral after Khabib posted the matchup details on his Instagram handle. Moreover, he also shared a heartfelt note along with the fight announcement. But while Bellator MMA celebrates its 300th PPV event – there’s all but one man who’s not so thrilled about this prospect – Dana White.
Well, initially, he had grand plans for his promotion’s 300th PPV event and dreamed of making the Conor McGregor–Michael Chandler fight on this card. Khabib Nurmagomedov makes a proud proclamation for his cousin
Taking to his Instagram handle, ‘Eagle’ uploaded the official poster for the Bellator champ’s next title defense. Hinting at the grandeur of the event, the former UFC champ dubbed the PPV as a “historical” landmark in Bellator MMA’s 15-year history.
Khabib proudly conveyed his pride in his cousin’s journey and penned a motivational caption. His IG post caption read: “Historical #Bellator300 event in San Diego, California headlined by my Brother @usman_nurmagomedov vs Brent Primus. Step by step my young brother is moving forward and he’s the flag bearer of our Family on international arena today. October 7 his second title defense 🤲🔝Let’s go my Brother @usman_nurmagomedov”

‘Eagle’s words reflected the familial bond and shared aspirations of the Nurmagomedov clan. But while Khabib and the MMA community celebrate the anticipation of a historic title defense, Dana White, the head honcho of the UFC, faces a dilemma. The Bellator 300 event inadvertently poses a challenge to White’s grand plans for his promotion’s 300th PPV event.
Dana White’s dilemma amid Khabib’s celebrations
In a recent interview conversation with TNT Sports, White reminisced on his promotion’s 30-year journey to the top. He was excited about the prospect of UFC’s 300th event closing in. But the UFC President also revealed that he’s “not even close” to predicting a card for the promotion’s landmark event. Furthermore, he added, “The stuff we’re focused on – right now – all the stuff that happens between now and [UFC] 300 – will determine the card on [UFC]300.”

White thinks that it’s too early to make any assumptions. He argued – “We have so many bada** fights coming up this summer – and the end of fall. [And] those [fights] will determine what happens…”.
