Will Figueiredo's grappling prowess overpower Yan's relentless striking in this high-stakes bantamweight clash?

The UFC returns to Macau on November 23 for another cracking card whose main and co-main event will have title implications for two of the most exciting divisions in the UFC at the moment. Former men’s flyweight champion #5 ranked bantamweight Deiveson Figueiredo will take on the legendary Petr Yan in a cracking matchup which will probably determine the next 135-pound title contender.

At first sight, Yan’s simple yet incredibly effective, pressure-fighting, combination-heavy fighting style will be up against Figueiredo’s BJJ and grappling-based approach. However, what makes this clash special is that the former flyweight champ is no slouch on the feet and Yan can more than handle himself on the canvas. After all, the Brazilian won his 125-pound title for the first time by a second-round KO and Yan does have one submission victory on his record.

Similarly, the co-main event will feature another clash between women’s straweights Tabitha Ricci and #2 ranked Yan Xiaonan. The latter, of course, is coming off a decision loss to champion Zhang Weili in their UFC 300 co-main event clash; while ‘Baby Shark’ is riding high on a three-fight win streak.

The stakes are especially high for Ricci, who will most probably find her one step away from a title shot, perhaps after an official #1 contender bout against #2 ranked Tatiana Suarez. If that is, the Brazilian can manage to get to Weili via her Macau clash against Xiaonan. In addition to the potential fireworks at the top of the card, the card will feature a host of interesting matchups. None more so than the finales for the third season of the Road to UFC show.

UFC Fight Night Macau to conclude season three of Road to the UFC

Season three of the UFC’s newest series, Road to UFC will reach its end on the Macau Fight Night card. The previous rounds of the show, of course, took place at the UFC’s Performance Institute in Shanghai and is a win-and-advance format tournament where promising Asian fighters get the chance to fight for a UFC contract.

The winners for this season will be decided in Macau on November 23, as Kiru Sahota will test his striking against undefeated Dong Hun Choi and his judo-based fighting style in the flyweight bracket. The bantamweight tournament finale will see a potential grappling masterclass between strong grapplers Su Young You and Baergeng Jieleyisi.
