With the UFC set to announce the UFC 317 card soon, rumors of a potential headliner have taken over the internet. It appears that ‘The Wolf’ of the UFC, Khamzat Chimaev, has begun his training for a possible clash against the middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis. With Khamzat’s current domination at the middleweight division, it was inevitable for him to get an eventual title shot.

While Khamzat’s training videos did come out, the excruciating details of his training have put the whole MMA community on notice for the fighter considering the number of times he has had to pull out of his fights due to his training methods. With a potential title fight ahead in his path, it’s in Chimaev’s best interests to keep calm because the storm will begin inside the octagon.

As his training videos have surfaced over the internet, fans can be seen concerned about the fighter, reminding him to not over-train and damage himself before the fight. A majority of the MMA community wants to see Chimaev with a UFC championship belt around his waist and they don’t want him to burn himself out right before the biggest fight of his career.

As the Chechen fighter’s training videos surfaced online, in a rather warm and caring way, fans were seen backing Chimaev. Wanting him to save the best of himself for the octagon and keep himself in order as he has finally reached the point of his career every fighter dreams of.

Fans are concerned about Chimaev for all the valid reasons. Even though he reigned terror on the UFC’s welterweight and middleweight division, his constant pullouts from bouts have established an even bigger terror in the heart of his fans and for his critics, a reason to ridicule him. A fan wbile showing support for Chimaev, said: “FFS do not over train! You will smash this south african bum with no camp! Go the wolf!” as another one commented: “New champ”. One fan even predicted a proper finish for The Wolf as he commented: “Khamzat by strangulation.“

Of course, Du Plessis’ ‘random’ fighting style has really helped him establish his own reputation. The DDP fans and the critics of Chimaev joined hands to make some hilarious statements against The Wolf, as one said: “Hopefully he doesn’t pull out because of a sneeze.” while another predicted a victory for Dricus, saying: “10-7 ddp, via stronger imminent system”. While everyone had their say, one comment that stood out, was rather a huge compliment for both the fighters but a speculation for the South African to win as he said: “Let’s not forget Fedor lost to Dan Henderson!!!” 

What will happen at their clash, for now is just a speculation. First, fans are concerned if Chimaev will be able to show up to the fight. If he does, chances are the fight will end in a very similar way as his previous fights have. But you can never count DDP out, somehow and anyhow he finds a way to win. With that in mind, one thing we know for sure is that both of these titans will put on an instant classic, in other words, an unforgettable fight.
