Did Manel Kape cross the line, or was Muhammad Mokaev asking for it at UFC 304?

The stakes are high for Muhammad Moaev and Manel Kape‘s UFC 304 clash. The two UFC flyweight stars have slowly but surely been making their way up the UFC’s competitive 125-pound division, and they will finally meet in the octagon for a very consequential bout.

They are set to face each other in a virtual number one title contender bout on the July 27 card in Manchester, England. To make the bout even more interesting, the two have genuine animosity and bad blood against each other. This is why it was not surprising to see the duo duke it out in a hotel lobby and try to do the same again at the weigh-ins ahead of their UFC 304 grudge match on Saturday. However, what is even more

Muhammad Mokaev and Manel Kape almost came to blows during the UFC 304 weigh-ins. However, their feud goes back a while. According to reports, the two got into a fight earlier this year outside the UFC’s PI over an ongoing social media beef.

Needless to say, both men were delighted to get the chance to settle their business in the octagon on UFC 304. However, the duo apparently couldn’t wait that long and took matters into their own hands. Upon seeing each other in the lobby of the hotel they were staying at, two days ago, they jumped on each other. A good old-fashioned melee ensued in the hotel lobby, as their whole teams joined in the action.

Videos of the incident have since gone viral on the internet, in which the duo could be seen being pulled off of each other. Clearly, the two men are going into the fight with nothing but bad intentions. And that, of course, always makes for exciting fights.

Have an interesting take?

However, this was not the end of the story, as they tried to repeat their hotel antics on the UFC stage as well, this time without their teams.

Kape and Mokaev try to fight at the weigh-ins

For the weigh-ins, Manel Kape took the stage first and weighed in successfully (and peacefully) for his Manchester clash. However, things took a turn as soon as Mokaev took the stage. Kape, in his characteristic bombastic manner, gave the ethnic Dagestani the universal ‘come get some’ gesture. Mokaev, undoubtedly still incensed over their previous two brawls, hardly needed the Angola-born fighter’s provocations and charged towards him.

Dana White and the security team, well aware of the situation between them, jumped between them immediately, wisely not letting the two get within six feet of each other. Their animosity was on full display as they kept shouting at each other, and tried (unsuccessfully) to break free from the many arms holding them and give fans their money’s worth before UFC 304.

With the stakes raised for UFC 304 with double the bonuses, and the genuine hatred between them, fans cannot contain their excitement for what is shaping up to be an absolutely electric bout. What are your predictions for UFC 304?
