Benavidez, arguably one of the greatest flyweights in the UFC had a career record of 28 wins and eight losses. He finally retired from the UFC in September 2021. Since then, Benavidez has remained active in the MMA community by being a part of several training sessions. He also focuses on his other interests, such as traveling and streaming, where he plays games online. The couple does not have any children; however, they do own a dog named Ben.

Megan Olivi’s professional career

As we said earlier, it was during her undergrad internship that Olivi gained an interest in journalism. During the internship, she realized that political reporting was not her cup of tea. So the guys she used to talk sports with suggested that Olivi try doing the same but in front of a camera instead. Olivi had combat sports in her blood. Her grandfather used to box in the Navy; her great uncle was a professional boxer, and her brother soon followed suit by getting into Greco and folkstyle wrestling before wrestling at the Naval Academy.

So, she too gained an interest in the sport and would often be found in the gym and on the mat. So when Fox News’ Mike Straka asked her to be a part of a digital MMA show they were organizing, giving her the first taste of MMA journalism, she did not have to think twice. She then joined Heavy.com’s MMA vertical as a host before finally moving back to Fox News. Although she got the opportunity to be a part of Fox Sports San Diego and cover baseball, she soon moved back to MMA reporting after missing the thrill of mixed martial arts.

How did Megan Olivi start working for the UFC?

After quitting her job as a baseball reporter for Fox Sports in just seven months, Olivi moved back to Las Vegas. And as luck would have it, she had something special planned for her. The UFC soon came knocking and offered her the opportunity to work for the Dana White-led promotion in 2013.
