Dana White is not the only top-tier, high-echelon executive in the UFC, because over the years, the name Hunter Campbell has come to the fore. His name pops up, especially when legal matters are in play. But who is Campbell? Well, that’s what we’re seeking to find out today as we take a look at how big of an influence he is in the world’s biggest MMA promotion.

Almost every fighter has namedropped Hunter Campbell while asking Dana White about the fights of their choice. He’s even limited his public appearances, which has made it a little tough for fight fans to get to know him better. Let us start from the beginning and see what Campbell’s early life looked like.

There isn’t too much to dive into when it comes to Hunter Campbell. It seems like he prefers to lie low because not much is available regarding him. Nevertheless, Campbell was born and raised in the fight capital of the world and the UFC’s home, Las Vegas, Nevada. But we don’t know anything about his age or his family because he’s never opened up on that front, ever, in the few public appearances that he’s made.

Hunter Campbell has been spotted several times with UFC CEO Dana White. It happened once at a Boston Celtics game when the duo smiled at the camera when it panned on them. But what does Campbell do? Apparently, he’s the third-most important figure in the UFC after Ari Emanuel and the UFC President, holding an important position as well.

Hunter Campbell’s net worth, salary, and position in the UFC

The official title of Hunter Campbell in the UFC is Chief Brand Officer and Executive Vice President. What does that mean? Well, he used to be responsible for overseeing the legal matters of the promotion, whatever they may be. But since then, a shift has taken place, and he’s leaned more into an advisory role than the role of the legal head.

When it comes to how much money Hunter Campbell is making as the third-most important UFC figure, he’s been able to keep those details out of the limelight. But guess what? Looking into legal matters isn’t the only thing the UFC CBO and VP do. Campbell also seems to lead the charge when it comes to fighting negotiations with the fighters on the roster or even informing them about certain news and announcements, the latter of which the fans got to witness recently.

On UFC’s Roku series, ‘Fight Inc: Inside the UFC’, an episode showed Hunter Campbell, along with Dana White, having a conversation with heavyweight champion Jon Jones late last October. There, the CBO informed ‘Bones’ about the severity of his shoulder injury, which was an emotional moment for the supposed ‘greatest of all time’. As such, it may not be wrong to assume that Campbell is involved in some important behind-the-scenes work in the promotion. But what about his educational background, and how did he get to the UFC? Well, Campbell’s pretty accomplished in the legal field.

Campbell’s education: where did he go to college?

Born in Las Vegas, he received his first taste of law school from the William S. Boyd School of Law. Interestingly, that is the only law school in the whole of Nevada. Affiliated with the University of Nevada, the school is almost three decades old. But for his undergrad, Campbell decided to leave his native state and move to Missouri and study at Washington University in St. Louis.

Before his advent into the UFC, Hunter Campbell worked as a Managing Partner at a law firm named Campbell & Williams. He worked there for almost five years, from 2012 to 2017. Just like we mentioned, one of his tasks is to take care of fighters on the roster, which he showed while defending Conor McGregor against the promotion’s former anti-doping partner, USADA.

Conor McGregor, more often than not, tends to find himself in controversial situations, but in one instance, he had the backing of the UFC’s legal advisor, Hunter Campbell. After USADA’s CEO Travis Tygart announced the end of their partnership with the UFC last October, Conor McGregor was apparently claimed to have been a factor in the anti-doping agency’s decision to snub the chance to renew their partnership. It was because the Irishman was not yet in the testing pool. But Campbell would come to shield McGregor and sound off on the UFC’s former partner, even threatening them with legal repercussions.

“What I can categorically tell you is that what USADA has put out in the last 48 hours could not be farther from the truth,” Hunter Campbell stated during a press conference. While standing up for his fighters is one thing, the CBO also plays a key role in pitting fighters against each other, which means setting up fights as a matchmaker. Yes, he, along with Dana White, is responsible for making the fight in the war room, and so far they’ve had some of the best events ever in the history of MMA.

Hunter Campbell is often considered to be the one who’ll fill in the shoes that Dana White is wearing right now. But that seems to be a thing for the future because now, all his focus is on making the most of his current role in the promotion.
