There has never been a moment in Pereira’s professional life that he has forgotten where he comes from. The Brazilian takes good care of his people and is completely proud of his indigenous culture. In fact, his nickname ‘Poatan’ means ‘hands of stone’ in his language.
The fighter has previously donned a beautiful headdress as well as facepaint during the ceremonial weight-ins at UFC 281. The same where he hurt Israel Adesanya really badly with his striking. Nonetheless, honoring his ancestors or hurting Adesanya is not new to Pereira.
