T.J. Dillashaw and Cory Sandhagen faced each other at the UFC Vegas 32 event. This was Dillashaw’s return to the UFC after over 2 years. Back in 2019, Dillashaw was banned because he tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug. Therefore, people were very excited to see how the former champion performs when he gets back inside the Octagon. This fight had more context as the winner of this was all set to face the winner of the Aljamain Sterling vs Petr Yan fight.
The winner of the fight between Dillashaw and Sandhagen was set to be the No.1 challenger for the title. However who they will face was undecided as the fight between Sterling and Yan is set to happen, but they have not announced an official date as yet. Recently though the champion Sterling, took to social media to announce that he will compete on October 30.

In a recent tweet, the fighter wrote, “October 30th in Abu Dhabi, all the talking ends! Sleepyhagen or Needleshaw, winner gets the next whooping after I put away Yan in 3! Only thing that matters in this sport is blue-collared hard work! No, Dana White Privileges ever given to me.”
According to the tweet put out by Sterling, he will face Petr Yan at the UFC 267 event. The result of this fight will then determine when the winner of UFC Vegas 32 will challenge for the title.

T.J. Dillashaw defeated
Sandhagen in a closely fought match a UFC Vegas 32. Therefore, the fighter will expect to challenge for the title real soon. As of now, it seems that Sterling and Yan will compete on October 30, therefore it seems unlikely Dillashaw will challenge for the title this year.And while Dillashaw does want to challenge for the title, he has often said that he won’t wait long for the title opportunity, and will compete in the meantime. Therefore, one can just wait and see what happens in the Yan vs Sterling fight and who Dillashaw faces next.
