The UFC is set to return to Montreal for UFC 315. Set for May 10, 2025, at the Ball Center, the hype around the event has already begun to rise. And one of the reasons is Dana White’s recent announcement about 2 enticing matchups for the event. Yes, we are going to witness Alexa Grasso’s return to the Octagon after losing her flyweight championship title against Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 306. But who will Grasso compete against?
According to the famed MMA journalist, Aaron Bronsteter, the #1 women’s flyweight contender will go up against Natalia Silva. The battle between the #1 and the #5 prospects would be nothing short of enticing. While Grasso is still recovering from her last defeat, Silva has been going on a 12-fight undefeated streak. The stakes for the bout are incredibly high. Another thing that would be interesting to see would be if Grasso will use her grappling to neutralize Silva’s elite striking. Before we start predicting this fight, let us tell you about the other one, too.
The second bout that the UFC CEO let loose is the one between Marc-Andre Barriault and Bruno Silva. Well, Bronsteter went straight and pointed at Silva’s 4-fight losing streak. On top of that, he seemed to look a bit uninspired during his last bout against Ismael Nordiev. Nevertheless, Bronsteter said, “I think for Marc-Andre Barriault, this is an opponent that I think is ripe for the picking for the Gatineau native who’ll be fighting in front of his home crowd for the first time since joining the UFC.”

But those 2 aren’t the only bouts that are in talks for UFC 315. Not too long ago, the welterweight champion, Belal Muhammad, also claimed that he would fight in May or June. Well, it’s because he has to fight only after Ramadan. But do you know what’s so special about UFC 315? Let’s hear it straight from the UFC CEO.
Why is UFC 315 going to be special for Dana White and fight fans?
Montreal has a special place for the UFC fans. And the UFC head honcho knew this pretty well. After all, that’s the place that invited the UFC back when it was yet to be sanctioned. Talking about the return to Montreal after about a decade, Dana White said, “This is where it all started for UFC in Canada. Before we were sanctioned across the country, we were packing the Bell Centre with massive fights. Fans have been demanding our return for years and we’re going to deliver an unforgettable Pay-Per-View. I’m excited to get back.” With the promise of an exciting event, the hype around UFC 315 was pretty high.

However, with Belal Muhammad eyeing his return to defend his welterweight championship belt at UFC 315, the fighting community was split into factions. After Muhammad revealed that he would return soon after the holy month of Ramadan, which will be around May or June, the same timeline for UFC 315, half of the fanbase started claiming the card would be boring. Meanwhile, others knew that “Remember The Name’ would bring a high level of skillset to the Octagon.
