Most UFC fans presented polarizing opinions when the promotional authorities decided to change the appearance of the UFC Championship title. They introduced the current design of the UFC Championship belt in 2019. They left no gaps in promoting their new ‘Legacy Championship Belt’. But, a large chunk of fans weren’t pretty satisfied with this change. However, ‘Dana White and Co.’ continue to present their champions with the ‘Legacy belt’ to date. The authorities have often made further changes to the appearance of the title for a few special events.
But the UFC CEO, Dana White, is probably focusing on the Mexican champions to promote these custom-made belts. Several fans might remember how the UFC presented a specially prepared belt to the former UFC Interim featherweight champ, Yair Rodriguez, prior to his UFC 284 title unification bout. A number of videos also showcased a meetup between him and the famed former UFC legend, Jose Aldo. They also got clicked together along with Rodriguez’s custom-made UFC Interim featherweight title. Recently, another Mexican UFC champion has been selected for a similar turn of events.

As already mentioned, the UFC plans to prepare custom-made belts only for a few occasions. The UFC boss, Dana White, has often vocalized he wants to prioritize scouting future UFC prospects from the country of Mexico.
This is probably the reason behind them scheduling a UFC event right on the Mexican Independence Day of 16 September. The main event of UFC Fight Night 227 will also feature a Mexican, the UFC Flyweight Queen, Alexa Grasso. She will take on her known rival, the famed former UFC Flyweight queen, Valentina Shevchenko at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Like her Mexican countrymate Yair Rodriguez, Grasso will also be presented with a custom-made UFC Flyweight title if she manages to defend it successfully. Recently, an Instagram video showcased the UFC CEO, Dana White, revealing the custom-made UFC Flyweight championship.

Well, it can’t be said that they are wrong to do this. The current champions are the ones who are showcased with these custom-made titles whenever the authorities decide to introduce one. However, it will be interesting to witness whether Grasso walks out of the T-Mobile Arena with the same championship at the end of her bout.
What does the UFC Superstar Conor McGregor have to say about the new belt?
Most fans know that the noted UFC icon Conor McGregor often uses his social media handles in order to express his opinions on various UFC issues. Mystic Mac took a similar approach to address the UFC’s introduction of the custom-made title for the 16 September Grasso vs. Shevchenko showdown.
Mystic Mac logged into his Instagram and left a comment on Dana White’s video where he unveiled the new, specially crafted UFC title. McGregor’s comment read, “Incredible”. Quite apparently, the first-ever champ-champ of the promotion loved how the UFC designed the multicolored custom-made title for UFC Fight Night 227.
The rivalry between Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko
Well, it won’t be right to say that the current UFC flyweight queen, Alexa Grasso, and her upcoming rival, Valentina ‘Bullet’ Shevchenko have bad blood between them. They kept things classy during the buildup to their UFC 285 flyweight title bout. Most fans might already know that Grasso snatched Shevchenko’s flyweight gold in the bout.

The thoughts of the loss have probably tormented ‘Bullet’ ever since it happened. Quite understandably, she will not settle for half-measures now that she finally has the chance to avenge it. On the other hand, Grasso will step into the octagon with an extra sense of determination. After all, the event will take place on Mexico’s Independence Day.
