It seems like the results of UFC 295 have had a massive impact on the pound-for-pound rankings. After Islam Makhachev recently topped the list, there have been two new additions to the ranks. Newly crowned light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira moved up, while interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall made his debut on the list.
UFC 295 was arguably one of the best events of the year so far. The show featured some tremendous matchups, with all the main card fights ending in knockouts inside 2 rounds. Plus, the pay-per-view also crowned two new champions – Alex Pereira and Tom Aspinall. Consequently, these wins made shifts in the P4P list.

UFC 295 was a monumental event for Alex Pereira. He became the promotion’s 9th two-division champion after beating Jiri Prochazka via knockout in the second round. In just his 7th UFC fight, he became a double champion and even won the ‘Performance of the Night’ honor worth $50,000. With the win, Pereira has climbed up the P4P rankings to the 5th spot, above middleweight champion Sean Strickland, and his arch-rival Israel Adesanya. ‘Poatan’ jumped five places higher than he was before winning the vacant championship last weekend.

When it comes to Tom Aspinall, he registered yet another 1st-round knockout win, this time over Sergei Pavlovich. It was his 7th UFC victory and also his 7th finish in Dana White‘s promotion. The victory not only earned Aspinall the title but also a spot in the P4P rankings and he’s been placed at #14. Now, fans are wondering what’s next for both of these fighters. Let us take a look at that front.
What’s next for both champions after UFC 295?
There is no doubt when it comes to Alex Pereira’s next fight. He will defend his light heavyweight title for the first time against former champion Jamahal Hill. Dana White mentioned that because of ‘Sweet Dreams’ vacating his title due to injury, he makes the best sense to be in line for the title shot.

Meanwhile, Tom Aspinall’s next opponent is yet to be announced. The UFC CEO is looking forward to making the Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic fight happen, which means that the interim champion could have another opponent until that fight or may even wait for the winner of the Jones vs. Miocic fight.
