Jiri Prichazka vs. Jamahal Hill lived up to the hype. Fans have been waiting to see the two former champs take each other on for a long time, and it is easy to see why. Their UFC 311 clash was an absolute dog-fight, with both men determined to do one thing from the first bell- sleep their opponent. After two intriguing, action-packed rounds, ‘The Czech Samurai’ managed to pull off the win via a TKO in the third round, even as ‘Sweet Dreams’ fought valiantly to the last.
Unsurprisingly, Prochazka, who has fought and lost to light heavyweight champ Alex Pereira twice already, called for a trilogy with the champ. And the Brazilian champ, while he did not quite respond to the call-out, did react to Prochazka’s win on X.
“Great performance Jiri, CHAMA
#UFC311,” Pereira wrote.

But this is not the only reaction Pereira had to their fight. ‘Poatan’ was ring-side in the Intuit Dome for UFC 311, and also had some jokes during the Prochazka-Hill fight, as he stood up and said “Hey kids stop fighting or I’m gonna have to use my belt” like a father would if he saw his kids fighting.

Prochazka, of course, got knocked out in both his fights against Pereira, and the prospects of him getting a third fight after one win since his last loss to ‘Poatan’ seems pretty unlikely. But then again, the UFC had Pereira fight then #8 ranked Khalil Rountree at UFC 307 last year, so you never know. On the other hand, recent reports suggest that will probably not be the case.
Is Magomed Ankalaev finally next for Alex Pereira?
It seems Magomed Ankalaev is finally getting his well-deserved title shot. The Dagestani is ranked #1 in the division and has been the clear front-runner to fight Pereira for the title since last year. But many feel that the UFC had been protecting ‘Poatan’ from the Dagestani.

Why? Well, because Anakalev has a respectable grappling game. Anakalev is not a grappler, mind you, and prefers to do most of his work on the feet. But since Pereira has virtually no ground game, fans feel Dana White and Co. didn’t even want to risk killing their golden goose by having him fight the Dagestani.
However, it seems the UFC has realized that they cannot but have Anakalev fight Pereira as there have been reports that the Dagestani is next for the Brazilian champ. If Hill had won at UFC 311, there would have been a chance he faces Pereira next. But the fans will riot if the promotion announces a Pereira-Prochzka trilogy next. What do you think about Alex Periera’s reaction to the Hill-Prochazka fight?
