Jiri Prochazka is riding high after his impressive victory over Jamahal Hill at UFC 311, but as is often the case in the UFC, victories are short-lived, and the focus quickly shifts to what’s next. Fans and analysts alike are already speculating about Prochazka’s next move. In a recent appearance on #165 of JRE MMA, the ever-candid ‘Czech Samurai’ shared his future plans, revealing that while a rematch with Alex Pereira is certainly on his radar, he has another significant goal before that- dropping down to 185lbs.
Prochazka explained his vision for the future during his conversation with Joe Rogan, stating, “Yes, I thought about that but the main thing for me is right now it’s either way in light heavyweight because I am just one of the strongest guys in this division. And I still feel like there is a way in light heavyweight.”
His strategy is clear: Prochazka plans to dominate the light heavyweight division first before making any major moves. “And I said to myself like ‘okay you can go to the middleweight but first show the consistency in light heavyweight. Take a belt then you can with a belt from light heavyweight; you can fight for the belt for middleweight, in middleweight.”

Prochazka has confirmed his intentions to eventually move down to middleweight, revealing that his body is well-suited for the weight class. In a recent video shared on his YouTube channel, he explained that his metabolism is perfectly aligned to handle the demands of middleweight, noting that with a few diet adjustments and lighter meals, he could make the transition smoothly. However, he made it clear that this move would come after he accomplished his primary goal: securing the 205lbs gold.
Prochazka’s immediate focus remains on dominating his current weight class but he also acknowledged that to reach that goal, a showdown with Alex Pereira is inevitable.

Jiri Prochazka is determined to settle the score with Alex Pereira, and he’s made it clear that he wants a trilogy fight with the Brazilian juggernaut. After his dominant outing at UFC 311, Prochazka wasted no time calling out Pereira. In an intense post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, he said, “F–k man – I want a third fight with Alex Pereira.”
Pereira, who was present at the cage side for the event, took notice of Prochazka’s callout and appeared impressed by the Czech fighter’s performance. The reigning 205lbs champion, who is scheduled to face Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 313, responded positively, saying, “If everything goes well, we are going to give Jiri this opportunity.”
Prochazka later joined ESPN’s Megan Olivi and reaffirmed his desire to face Pereira, regardless of the outcome of UFC 313. He made it clear that he’s not concerned whether Pereira retains his title after the fight; he simply wants to prove himself against the man who has defeated him twice.

As for UFC CEO Dana White, he remains cautious, noting that the situation with Pereira will need to play out before any decisions are made. “I don’t know, we’ve got to see how it will play out with Alex now. I doubt people don’t want to see this fight again, so we’ll see how it plays out,” White said during the presser.
With Prochazka’s callout and Pereira’s open interest, fans are eager to see if a third clash between these two fighters is on the horizon. What do you think? Will we get to see Pereira vs. Prochazka 3? Share your thoughts below!
