UFC light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira has taken up arms against the famed Brazilian MMA reporter, Guilherme Cruz. Yes, he was the one who pushed Aline Pereira to reveal her struggles in the USA. She indeed used to work 4.5 hours per day to deliver goods on behalf of Amazon. Later on, Cruz took to X and revealed that the Karate Combat star had plans to quit her Amazon job soon. Unfortunately, he made a mistake that seemed to have enraged ‘Poatan’.

There was quite a bit of pressure on Alex Pereira’s sister, Aline Pereira, as her fight against Gisela Luna at Karate Combat 52 was right on the horizon. Just like the UFC light heavyweight champion, the Karate star has been attracting the spotlight towards her. In October, she defeated Dee Begley by a KO in the first round. Needless to say, she expected to conquer the arena similarly on 24th January 2025. On top of that, she had to deliver on behalf of Amazon for 4.5 hours a day. And this pressure seemed to have traveled to ‘Poatan’ as well, which splashed out when Cruz stopped rolling the camera when he got to know that Aline Pereira was working.

During the interview with Cruz, Aline revealed that her mornings start with making deliveries and then 4-5 hours later, she works on her fighting career, training with Glover Teixeira. On top of that, she also takes care of her son. No doubt, it’s a tiresome routine. Well, she does need to work during her free time in between her fights to get some extra income. But that’s something that runs in the Pereira family. Before finding his success in the UFC, ‘Poatan’ also used to work at a tire shop in Brazil.

But when ‘Poatan’ came across a post that showed his sister’s interview with Cruz hinting that his sister was hoping to quit her Amazon job, he lashed out at the journalist. After all, the netizens had already begun talking about Pereira not helping his sister financially. Taking to the comments section, he wrote, “You almost cut off the recording after my sister said she was working, if you had no evil you would have asked if I helped in any way, but you knew if you prolonged the conversation you know I wouldn’t have a good material for you ! But for people who are trying to win in life it would be very important!”

The man with the hands of stone went on and promised to disclose details in an interview about the issue. He claimed that he’d talk about Cruz’s attitude towards the entities he interviews, especially his sister. ‘Poatan’ continued, “you don’t deserve to have this kind of work with this evil in creating discord and transmitting it to the good people.” He even sought out help from Dana White and claimed that he’d release more BTS insights from his colleagues. Well, you definitely don’t want to get on the bad side of Pereira, do you?

Alex Pereira reveals Aline Pereira’s training situation

During the interview, ‘Poatan’ admitted that he got nervous regarding his sister’s fights. After all, it’s a dangerous sport. But she assured Pereira of the way she trained and performed in the arena. And then Segura tackled the elephant in the room. Does Alex Pereira help his sister train? The Brazilian UFC champion replied, “My life has changed a lot. I’m not always on the mats. Whenever I am, I do help her, give her the hints, prepare her. We have a very good team, too. If I’m not there, Glover [Teixeira] is there. Glover is doing an outstanding job with her. So, she’s in good hands.”

No doubt, the Karate Combat contender was content with the kind of training she received from her brother. And that’s the one thing she’s grateful for. Aline Pereira, in an interview with MMA Junkie, said, “He’s really picky (as a coach). He’s on top of it. He checks my opponents. Goes over it. Gives me the hints. But having him around is the best thing.”

But the pressure on the flyweight fighter was real. She had to fight and win gloriously just like her brother did in his recent bouts. Nevertheless, her training with Teixeira and Pereira elevates her chances of attaining greatness in the fighting realm.
