The UFC is ready with some mind-blowing fights before 2023 ends. The promotion has officially confirmed the bout between Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka for the vacant light heavyweight title. And just weeks after this fan-favorite bout, the MMA community will witness yet another interesting showdown in December- a welterweight title clash between Leon Edwards and Colby Covington. The bout between Pereira and Prochazka has the potential to be a huge PPV booster. It will mark ‘Poatan’s first-ever title clash in the light heavyweight division and third title fight in the UFC. Meanwhile, Prochazka, the former light heavyweight champion who relinquished his title after facing a serious shoulder injury, will look to win it back. 

While both LHWs seem to be deserving of their title shots, the story is a little different for the 170 lbs title fight. When it comes to the bout between Covington and Edwards, it can be a visual treat for the fans. However, this matchup was surrounded by huge controversies, as many, including some UFC fighters, believed that ‘Chaos’ did not deserve a title shot. A Reddit post showed the number of likes received to the Instagram posts of ESPN MMA, which announced Colby Covington vs. Leon Edwards and Alex Pereira vs. Jiri Prochazka. It is confirmed that Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka will lock horns at UFC 295 on November 11 at Madison Square Garden, New York. The bout between Colby Covington and Leon Edwards will be held at UFC 296 on December 16 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The Reddit post showed how the Edwards vs. Covington annoucemnt received 262,043 likes, whereas the post that announced Pereira vs. Prochazka received over 292,978 likes. Along with the numbers, the Reddit post was captioned, “Is Alex a bigger draw than Colby?” When fans came across the question, they filled the comment section with their thoughts.

Fans prefer ‘Poatan’ over ‘Chaos’

Most of the fans commented about how ‘Poatan’ is a far better fighter than ‘Chaos.’ These fans claimed that Pereira is a better fighter and possesses a great personality. He has also proved that he has displayed impressive fighting skills within a short time at the UFC.

On the other hand, they felt that Covington was just good at trash talk and was not even a great fighter. A fan even stated that Covington is “unoriginal” and is desperately trying to gain the attention of the fight fans with his loud mouth.

Here’s the thing guys…. Alex Pereira is a big scary f**kin Brazilian who is way more fun to watch than Colby.

Pereira has more of a following from saying nothing at all than Colby has from desperately running his mouth for clout. Colby is a loud character but he’s not really popular, especially outside of the US.

Alex has a more entertaining fighting style, a cooler personality, and just a more interesting aura. Colby’s relevance literally revolves entirely around him saying controversial shit

Colby is trash. His personality is unoriginal and garbage. His main comeback is to yell really loud. He’s like if Chael had a mental disability. It baffles me that he has fans.

A fan even went on to claim that the bout between Prochazka and ‘Poatan’ is the dream fight of every fight fan. Another fan was confused about why people would be interested in watching the bout between Covington and Edwards.
