Alana McLaughlin’s life before transitioning

Before Alana McLaughlin transitioned, her past life pre-transition was filled with trauma and hardship that ‘Lady Feral’ is still struggling to cope with. In her past life, McLaughlin claimed that she was dirt poor with a family who didn’t truly understand what she wanted and desired.

She claimed that she was a scrawny kid who was more comfortable with girls than with the boys in her class. Which was unfortunately also one of the reasons why she was a victim of bullying from a young age. McLaughlin also was a victim of sexual abuse as a kid which left her with trauma she deals with to this day.

She claimed that her father refused to talk to her for two weeks after she came out of the closet and believed that her being the way she was had something to do with her being sexually assaulted at a young age.

Alana ‘Lady Feral’ McLaughlin joined the MMA scene for one reason. That was to bring about change for trans people in sports. McLaughlin, in an interview before her fight against Celibe Provost in 2021, stated, “We need to show that MMA is an inclusive sport”.

Alana McLaughlin also stated, “I want to go as far as I can, but I really want to help normalize trans people in sports. This will start my contribution”. Despite this, McLaughlin hasn’t fought in over two years and it seems like she is finding it hard to find opponents to fight.
