Jiri Prochazka will rematch light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira at UFC 303 on June 29. ‘The Czech Samurai’ will try and recapture his 205-pound title, which he had vacated due to a shoulder injury two years ago. While their first, UFC 295 fight last year resulted in a second-round knockout for ‘Poatan’, ‘BJP’ is determined to become champion once again.

And Prochazka recently voiced that he believed that Pereira called on spirits in rituals he did before his fights in order to win them. He asked that the Brazilian eschew these rituals for their rematch and have a clean fight. However, these comments have rubbed BKFC superstar Mike Perry the wrong way who had some tangible advice for Prochazka.

Mike Perry observed that Prochazka was an energy fighter, who channels the energy and vibes he gets from the crowd to get motivated and ‘charge’ himself. And the BKFC star felt that Prochazka should be going hard, absorbing all the energy he could before UFC 303. ‘Platinum’ warned that if he didn’t, Pereira would emerge victorious yet again.

“If Jiri is already saying ‘hey let’s leave our our spells and our mantras’, Jiri is a guy who goes outside of the Arena, he wants to get in the ring, he wants to suck in that energy. He better go suck in that energy and prepare to fight this guy or it’s just going to be the same thing. I think Alex Pereira gets the dub again” he said.

Perry pointed out Prochazka had a lot of material to help him prepare for the champion since the latter had been putting out training videos from his camp regularly, where he could be seen doing “the same thing over and over again.” These clips of him training, the former UFC star felt, gave away what ‘Poatan’ was looking to do against ‘BJP’ on their UFC 303 clash, which the latter should use to formulate his own plan.

“The guy has been showing us what he’s doing, he’s been putting videos of sparring. Every freaking week he’s sparring and you’re seeing he does the same thing over and over and over again. If Jiri ain’t, you know, if you ain’t watching that, like ‘wow I could do something about this,’ you know, it ain’t about the spells or the mantras bro. Say your prayers walk out there and fight like a man,” he added.

Further, ‘Platinum’ advised Prochazka to forget about all the occult stuff and concentrate on preparing to beat Pereira in the fight. But Perry is not the only one who has dismissed Prochazka’s comments.

Alex Pereira answers Prochazka’s charge of using ‘spirits’

Alex Pereira was asked about Jiri Prochazka’s comments during the UFC 303 press conference. But the Brazilian didn’t really address the former champion’s claims and simply spoke about how everyone has a spirit and it wasn’t his fault if Prochazka hadn’t found his spirit.

“Everybody has their own spirits. We’re not only made of flesh and bone. I have found mine. If he did not find his, or if he doesn’t believe, it’s not my fault,” he said through a translator in his native Portuguese.

Prochazka quickly jumped in and pointed out that he was talking about ‘spirit’ in the sense of souls and occult powers, which was very different from the ‘spirit’ in the sense of self-confidence Pereira had been talking about, reiterating that he wanted to have a clean fight. What are your thoughts on Prochazka’s claims?
