UFC middleweight star Sharaputdin Magomedov is a special fighter. The one-eyed red-haired Russian is not only a fantastic fighter, who has a perfect undefeated record, and has a persona and looks that make him stand out, but is doing everything he can to become a veritable superstar.
That is why ‘Shara Bullet’ has chosen to remain remarkably active. After all, the Russian has fought twice already this year alone and will fight Armen Petrosyan in his third fight in five months at UFC 308 this Saturday in Abu Dhabi. But the sublime striker is still not happy with his activity level and has claimed he plans on asking Dana White for another fight before the end of 2024 if everything goes well at the Etihad Arena.
The undefeated middleweight also claimed he wants to break the record for the most fights for a UFC fighter in a calendar year, although he is extremely unlikely to fight six times this year, which is what would be required to do so.

“Yes, I’m going to be asking Dana about it [another fight this year]. But it all depends on how the fight goes on Saturday. If on Saturday the fight goes well, both of us, me and Arman get out there unscathed… if it goes well, I will be asking Dana to possibly give me another fight this year because I’m very thankful to him for giving me all these opportunities. It’s important for me to set a new record to be the most active fighter in one year,” Magomedov said through a translator at the UFC 308 pre-fight press conference.

The current record for the most fights in a year at the UFC is shared by twelve fighters, who have fought five times in that time. That, of course, means that ‘Shara Bullet’ will have to fight thrice more to break that record, or twice to equal it. And with just two months to go in 2024, it is almost impossible for the undefeated Russian to even equal, let alone break that record. Not to mention his one eye makes it much harder for him to fight in the USA, where most of the rest of the UFC cards will be held.
Sharaputdin Magomedov claims he is eligible to fight in ‘some’ US states
So far Sharaputdin Magomedov has had all three of his UFC fights outside the USA, the UFC’s primary market and where the majority of its events are held. This is not surprising since ‘Shara Bullet’ has only one eye, and is thus ineligible to be sanctioned by many Athletic Commissions inside the USA.

But thankfully, it seems the Russian dynamo may be eligible to fight in at least some US states, albeit with some special agreements. “I was told that I might not be able to fight in some states. As it would take some special agreements. But I can still take part in many events in the United States,” Magomedov said in a recent interview.
And despite his impediment, Magomedov is certain he can become UFC champion one day. After all, the Russian striker takes inspiration from former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping, who won the title despite being blind in one eye.
