Nate Diaz is all set to fight Jake Paul inside the squared ring on 5th August 2023. Without a doubt, the fight between the two has caused an uprising in the worlds of MMA and boxing. However, many people have shown doubts regarding how the Stockton native would fare against ‘The Problem Child’.
After Dustin Poirier claimed that the fight would be a tough one, Andre Ward reveals a similar belief about the fight. In the recent episode of ‘The MMA Hour’ with Ariel Helwani, Ward revealed that Diaz would give Paul a tough fight if he could simply endure the YouTuber-turned-boxer’s right hand. He further opined that Diaz was one of those fighters who kept coming at their opponent, without regard to how their shots looked. Undeniably, the mixed martial artist claimed that the fight would be a good one.

In a recent talk with Helwani, ‘Son of God’ revealed his thoughts on the upcoming fight between Diaz and Paul. He claimed that the fight would indeed be a good one since Diaz’s shots would keep coming. He also pointed out that people only looked at the way Diaz was training on Mitts, while the fighter had a lot more to him.
Ward said, “It’s gonna be a good fight. You know, people, people look at the, that mitts session that Nate had and they just, they just misread the play, man. Those type of shots, like they don’t look pretty but they keep coming. They keep coming, different angles.”
Furthermore, he declared that Diaz had a bit more experience than ‘The Problem Child’. He said, “And you know, he’s had, you know, he’s got some miles on him. He’s been around a long time. So, you know, I’m gonna, he’s got to show that he can take the shot from Jake Paul, because Jake has the natural right hand. It’s got power on it. So, if he can take that right hand from Jake Paul, it’s gonna be a tougher fight than people realize, man, because Nate’s gonna keep coming.”
Dustin Poirier’s Opinion on Paul vs. Diaz
In a previous interview with the famed MMA reporter, Poirier also asserted that the fight would be formidable for the fighters. He opined that while Paul was fast and young, Diaz was a “grizzled veteran”.
