Ahead of His Combat Sports Return in December, UFC Legend Georges St-Pierre Drops the Biggest Hint at Khabib Nurmagomedov Being His Opponent

What happens when two of the most revered UFC fighters collide? Who wins in a bout when two legends of the sport test their mettle? Retired UFC legend Georges St-Pierre entertained that idea after he said that a match against the undefeated former Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov sounds like a good plan.

Nurmagomedov retired 29-0 from the UFC after his last fight against Justin Gaethje. The last time UFC fans saw a dominant performance like that was when Georges St-Pierre was competing in the UFC in the Middleweight and the Welterweight divisions. It has been 6 years since St-Pierre last fought under the UFC banner. His last win was against Michael Bisping, for the Middleweight title.

Jon Jones is easily one of the greatest mixed martial artists in the world. He has an undefeated UFC streak and is currently prepping to fight Stipe Miocic for a title defense before he retires. Another UFC fighter who retired undefeated is Khabib ‘The Eagle’ Nurmagomedov.

As UFC 290 left the fans in amazement, another major announcement was dropped that has the UFC fans hyped. Legendary UFC fighter Georges St-Pierre, another who is regarded as one of the G.O.A.T.s of the sport, has decided to return to the UFC on 14 December, on Fight Pass 16.

This news took the whole combat sport world by storm and people cannot contain their excitement. The only thing on everybody’s mind is who would St-Pierre’s opponent be.

Nurmagomedov and St-Pierre have been compared on several occasions. Although the two have a lot of mutual respect, there is no denying that the fight between them would be an explosive one – one that people never forget.

In a recent interview, Georges St-Pierre was being shown pictures of UFC fighters and being asked who his potential opponent could be on his return. When Nurmagomedov’s picture was shown, St-Pierre said, “Oh Khabib! For sure! Khabib is the legend, you know? Everybody is wondering what would happen if I would have fight him. You know… Like… uh, but… grappling is different – you know. But it could be done. 100%.“.

Khabib Nurmagomedov just one name – St-Pierre open to Diaz Brothers as well

Having been away from the sport for many years now, Georges St-Pierre is looking to make a comeback befitting a legend like himself. The top contender, as everyone knows, is Khabib Nurmagomedov. However, Nurmagomedov has retired and hasn’t shared any news about returning to the Octagon. Therefore, there is a high possibility that this ‘super-fight’ might never see the light of day.

Another option, as per St-Pierre happens to be the Diaz Brothers, Nate Diaz, and Nick Diaz. The UFC legend seems to think that the fans would love to see him go against the Diaz Brothers. All that being said, St-Pierre has also specifically mentioned that who he fights on his return would be left up to the fans to decide. Is there even a possibility that Michael Bisping comes out of retirement to settle the score with Georges St-Pierre?
