Grant Dawson was born in the Cambria village of Columbia County on 20 February 1994. The name of his father is Alex Dawson. However, none of the available sources mentions his mother’s name. Grant also has two sibling brothers named Cam and Chase while his only sibling sister, is named Alexa.

Grant is currently married to an MMA fighter as well. His wife Ella Dawson currently fights under the ‘Immortals Fight Club’ MMA promotion. Reports say that Grant and Ella tied the knot on 21 November 2022 after five years of dating, beginning in 2017.

He competed in high school wrestling during his time at Cross County Community School. But, due to being dyslexic, he refrained from going to college. This, in turn, left him with pretty few career choices. ‘KGD’ with his wrestling skills, chose to become a professional MMA fighter. He started training under the controversial coach, James Krause, in his facility, ‘Glory MMA and Fitness’, and also earned a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in February 2022.

But he moved on to join the noted MMA training facility, American Top Team, last year. Most fans might know that ATT is also the training home of a few other noted UFC fighters like Dustin Poirier and Mateusz Gamrot.
