David Feldman wasn’t lying when he claimed that BKFC was the fastest-growing combat sports organization in the world. With part-owner Conor McGregor on board, their expansion into the European region and the Middle East might prove to be tremendous. The promotion has set events for England and Italy and is doing everything to cement its status in the world of combat sports. “Italy has a wealth of BKFC fans and we are thrilled to make our promotional debut on April 26 as we continue our international expansion,” said David Feldman (Founder and President of BKFC) in Feb.

With this statement, the promotion is preparing to make a debut in Italy and Conor McGregor appears to be in the captain’s seat for it. Earlier this month, he took to his social media to announce that the tickets for Chris Camozzi versus Lorenzo Hunt, which will happen in Florence, Italy, were available for purchase. Now, he once again attempted to promote the event by making a bold promise. What is it?

Taking to his Instagram handle, the former UFC champ shared a video of the main event fighters Chris Camozzi and Lorenzo Hunt and captioned it, “Italy Main event. Pure unfiltered action.” As the rematch between Chris Camozzi and Lorenzo Hunt is generating major buzz, the Irishman is doing his part by promoting the event on a larger scale and is using his influence in the combat world.

Interestingly, Conor McGregor arguably won the race to the European continent against Dana White. Unlike UFC, which has held minimal events in Europe over the years, BKFC has already planned to capture the European markets.

After Ilia Topuria’s victory against Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 298, the UFC had the opportunity to hold an event at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium in Spain, but it never happened and now Topuria has given up his belt. On the other hand, in September 2024, BKFC announced a three-year deal with DAZN. It kicked off with BKFC Marbella, Spain, from the iconic Marbella Arena, in October. Even back then, Feldman opened up about how it was a part of their global expansion. “Our partnership with DAZN represents a major inflection point in BKFC’s global expansion. This three-year deal allows us to bring the adrenaline-pumping action of BKFC to an even larger, worldwide audience. DAZN shares our vision of elevating the sport of bare-knuckle fighting, and together, we will deliver an unparalleled experience to combat sports fans across the globe.”

Interesting Fact: BKFC’s first event in Europe took place in Sofia, Bulgaria on November 17, 2023.

So the boxing promotion is not just expanding in terms of locations but also online viewership. But do they need one last push to grab more attention?

You see, in addition to making BKFC a household name in the world of combat sports, Conor McGregor has promised to make a comeback to the combat scene, and that too, with the help of BKFC.

Conor McGregor teased his combat sports return through BKFC!

While having a conversation at the BKFC Italy press in February, Conor McGregor emphasized that he would make a comeback to the combat sports world by debuting under the BKFC banner: “Yes. The warrior spirit burns strong inside me. For sure. If you think I’m up here giving these speeches and leading these men into battle and I won’t step in there myself, think again. For sure. Conor McGregor will fight in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship – mark my words.”

The former UFC champion further emphasized that he has many fights that he can take: “There are many bouts, showcase bouts you could say. Michael Perry, Mike Perry. You could say, Jeremy Stephens. You could say a rematch against Eddie Alvarez.” However, is this a good idea to fight bare-knuckled? Well, Matt brown believes it is.

While having a conversation at ‘The Fighter vs The Writer,’ in January, Matt Brown revealed that Conor McGregor making a comeback to combat sports through the BKFC banner is much better than his comeback to UFC, “I think that’s a no-brainer. That’s by far the most exciting Conor McGregor fight out there right now.”

Brown isn’t wrong. But let us not forget that for the longest time, McGregor teased a comeback in the UFC. He is still under contract with the promotion and we aren’t sure if Dana White will allow him to box—Something he was okay with back in 2017 when ‘The Notorious’ faced Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match.
