Patience is the key to life they say, but even the most patient Conor McGregor fans are fiercely demanding an update about the Irishman’s return! Shortly after his career-threatening injury against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, Conor McGregor announced that he would eventually return to the UFC. It has been almost two years, and fans have zero idea when the former UFC champion returns.

Earlier this year, Dana White announced The Ultimate Fighter Season 31, featuring Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler as coaches. The UFC Boss also declared that the two would fight after the show ends. However, fans have no idea when the fight will happen, even as TUF 31 has started airing. Moreover, Conor McGregor is absent from the USADA pool, even as the last date to enter the testing pool for being eligible to fight at UFC’s last PPV this year is almost here (June 16th). Recently, Michael Chandler appeared in an interview with ‘Spinnin Backfist’, and cleared some air about this issue.

Interestingly, ‘Iron Mike’ also revealed the initial date that he had in mind for this fight. “The first possibility could have been maybe September or so right after the fight airs.”

Ultimately, the former Bellator champion’s message was loud and clear – The fight is going to happen, but no one knows when. Moreover, Chandler discounted the idea of McGregor not returning to the UFC or skipping a fight against him.

“Conor coming back on the fight, we just don’t know when it’s going to be. I’ve been in contact with the UFC, talked to Hunter Campbell and Dana White both personally. The fight is happening. they don’t even have certain big pay-per-views necessarily announced yet. It’s a tough ask right now. We’re still sitting in June. So, ultimately we’re fighting! Just got to know what it’s going to be.”

Is Michael Chandler & Conor McGregor’s TUF Season 31 getting an underwhelming response?

When Conor McGregor walked onto the sets of TUF, it was season 22, and his fellow coach was Urijah Faber. The show did very well in terms of viewership, and fans still cherish some memories from that exciting season. A few years later, when McGregor and Chandler were announced for TUF Season 31, everyone thought the show was going to break records!

With the former double champ having a bigger name, a more famous opponent, and an intriguing storyline, TUF 31 looked unbeatable. But that might not be true! According to MMA Fighting, TUF 22 premiered with 622,000 average viewers. However, TUF 31 has failed to match the ratings by a long margin. In fact, this season’s ranking sits way below the midway line, at 294k average viewers on ESPN.
