It is not a good idea to challenge a UFC fighter to a street fight. Especially if you are not a fighter yourself. However, this is exactly what a fan did to Belal Muhammad at a Q&A session for UFC 291. The Palestinian welterweight, without hesitation, agreed to a fan asking him to step outside.

Good sense prevailed, however, and the host, Megan Olivi shut down the fan implying he was acting tough but was not actually as tough as he made it out to be. And on a post celebrating her birthday, one fan criticized Olivi for how she handled the situation, prompting a stern reply from Olivi. And Belal Muhammad too took to Twitter and reacted to her reply.

The fan accused Olivi of going “full Karen” on the other fan for challenging Belal to fight. She pointed out that it was her job as the moderator to make sure order was maintained and to protect the fighters against vitriol and hate from the trolls. She stated she always puts the fighters first and didn’t care if he was disappointed in her.

“oh I disappointed you, Karl? It is my job to be the bad guy up there. I’d rather
you call me a “Karen” for protecting fighters from incessant bullsh*t and people looking
for a viral moments then sitting up there not doing my job and letting the disrespect flow. Where you there? Did you also hear the vitriol being yelling from fandoms in the
crowd? No. They’re professional athletes who give their time for fans – not your punching bag because you watch them on TV. I will always put the fighters first. Get mad about it,” she wrote.

Belal Muhammad retweeted a screenshot of the reply and thanked her for defending him. “your the best @MeganOlivi,” he tweeted.
