Currently affiliated with ONE Championship, Musumeci reigns as the reigning flyweight submission grappling champion. Recently, ONE Championship announced Musumeci’s next open-weight submission grappling contest at ONE Fight Night 15 against Shinya Aoki.

Reacting to this news, Zuckerberg posted a powerful message for Musumeci. “Looking forward to next Mikey fight,” he wrote on Threads. The bout takes place on October 6th, at 8 PM ET. Enjoying an 8-match win streak at the moment, Zuckerberg’s training partner is a fan favorite going into this bout.

On 5th August 2023, the 27-year-old champ defeated Jarred Brooks. Soon after his victory, ‘Darth Rigatoni’ graced his opponent with some positive words. Reflecting on his recent victory, Musumeci expressed his admiration for Brooks’ exceptional skills.

“Man, I grapple with so many high-level people, and he’s super tough and durable, super strong. I was really impressed by how he was hand-fighting me at close guard”. Moreover, he lauded Brooks as a highly resilient and formidable adversary, noting his remarkable strength and adeptness in close-guard hand-fighting.

Further, he highlighted his deep respect for Brooks, acknowledging his accomplishments as a world champion in MMA and the commendable decision to step out of his comfort zone. “He was awesome, and again, props to him. He’s a warrior. He’s a world champion in MMA, and he took a match with me in jiu-jitsu, going out of his comfort zone. So I just have so much respect for him,” he added.
