UFC CEO Dana White was brought in as the President of the MMA promotion back in 2001. Back then, MMA or UFC was not half as popular as it is today. But thanks to the efforts of current UFC CEO White and his competent team, the sky is the limit for the company. According to reports, in 2022, UFC raked in around $1.140 billion in revenue – more than any other combat sports company.

Now, although Dana White was at the driving wheel, others helped him in realizing this. One of his dearest friends is the former US President Donald Trump. The two are thick friends and they go way back – even before Trump became the President. In an old interview with Donald Trump Jr., White opened up to him about how his father stood by him in his time of need – the 2022 New Year’s Eve incident that involved White and his wife, Anne White.

There is not much to go on when it comes to Dana White and his personal life. The UFC CEO likes to keep it private but the fact that something went down between him and his wife on 2022 New Year’s Eve, is not news. The two got into an altercation that turned physical quickly. The internet wasted no time in lambasting the CEO of one of MMA’s most successful leaders.

However, Donald Trump stood by him. In the interview with Donald Trump Jr., White recalled how the former President had let him know that he was there for him. “Let’s be honest… my New Year’s Eve incident last year. Your father was one of the first people to pick up the phone and call me and your father probably called me four times in two weeks to make sure that me and my wife and my family were okay!“, recalled White. “The small things… but those are the big things. Those – those are the things that matter.“, concluded the UFC CEO. 

White, 54 years old, has two sons and a beautiful daughter with his wife, Anne White. Naturally, when the media and the fans got wind of what went down, they were enraged. However, Trump showed White that he could find a friend in him. Naturally, the bond of friendship that existed between these two moguls, grew stronger.

The involvement of Donald Trump in the UFC goes way back. In early 2001, the UFC was not doing as well. They struggled to find venues to host their events. The former President recognized the potential of the promotion and decided to help out accordingly.

Sources suggest that Trump actually hosted UFC 30 and UFC 31 in the Trump Taj Hotel in Atlantic City in 2001, giving the company a head start. This was the first step that helped Donald Trump solidify his friendship with the UFC CEO. Later, in 2016, White returned the favor.

When Donald Trump decided to run for President, Dana White rallied for him and supported his agenda. Naturally, Trump’s run for Presidency was showered with a lot of support – thanks to Dana White. In fact, White has mentioned how grateful he is to Trump, for helping out the UFC in its early days – when the UFC was not even popular.

The mutual respect between the two businessmen has been admirable over the years. Both have helped each other out whenever they could. In fact, Trump even turned up for UFC 287 in Miami, where he was clicked alongside Dana White, Gordon Ryan, and more.
