UFC star Israel Adesanya doesn’t want to put an end to the old rivalry with Alex Pereira. The ‘Last Stylebender’ finally had his long-awaited redemption at UFC 287 when he flatlined the Brazilian fighter and reclaimed his middleweight title. What followed up was an array of celebrations, an emotional speech, and also a bit of dancing from ‘The Last Stylebender’. However, the New Zealander received backlash for one of his celebrations, aimed at the former champion’s son.

Despite being on the receiving end of the bashing from the fans for mocking a kid, the Kiwi fighter added another chapter to the ongoing saga. Notably, the 33-year-old lay on the floor, mimicking the manner in which his opponent fell stiff on the canvas. The middleweight kingpin did the celebration while pointing out to Pereira’s son, alluding to the gesture the kid did 6 years back.

Markedly, Pereira had expressed he held no ill will towards Adesanya for the disrespectful celebration. Further, he mentioned he wouldn’t have done the same.

Alex Pereira believes other people influenced Adesanya’s actions

Talking on his YouTube channel, Pereira said, “I don’t know, I wouldn’t do the same. I can play with him. I’ve always played with him, I teased him. It was something that happened, but he… I don’t know… it’s another child.”
