Although he’s only just won the UFC light heavyweight title, Jamahal Hill wants all the smoke. The 31-year-old beat Glover Teixeira at UFC 283 in Brazil this past weekend to claim the vacant title. Now, Hill has become the target for the division’s top dogs like Jiri Prochazka, Jan Blachowicz, Magomed Ankalaev, etc. Furthermore, the new champion has also got the attention of another champion. UFC middleweight champion Alex Pereira recently expressed his willingness to face Jamahal Hill. Considering that Hill beat Pereira’s teammate and mentor, Teixeira, from bell to bell to secure the title, it also makes for a great revenge story.

After Hill’s win, several fans speculated that ‘Poatan’ would move up in weight to avenge Teixeira. In fact, Teixeira announced in his retirement speech that Pereira’s light heavyweight move was imminent. However, Hill is unfazed and has a stern response for the Brazilian.

UFC legend Chael Sonnen has fought for both the middleweight and light heavyweight titles during his UFC tenure. Now the retired Hall of Famer has chimed in on the possibility of a champion vs. champion fight. The 45-year-old predicted that vindication for Teixeria will happen as Pereira will face Hill.

He said, “Pereira will avenge Glover (Texeira)… I also believe, in the world of predictions, that’s wise. What you’re talking about is Alex Pereira leaving middleweight and going up to 205 lbs. I also see that as a very live dog as Jamahal Hill’s next fight is against Alex Pereira. I can see that.”
