UFC 296 is just days away and Ian Garry has joined Charles Oliveira’s gym (Chute Boxe Academy) to train after being kicked out by Leon Edwards’ gym. The undefeated fighter has been getting unwanted attention from the combat community due to his antics and his joining Oliveira’s gym has raised eyes from the community.

Some of the comments by the fans are as follows:-

One asserted that the people at Chute Boxe tolerate Garry due to the language barrier.

“They tolerate him because they can’t understand English”

Another reminded us that this was not the first time that the fighter had gone to Oliveira’s gym.

“He was also there before all this recent controversy what I’m seeing is that Charles did not switch up on and turn his back on Ian because of some internet drama. Charles slander will not be tolerated.”

Moreover, one took a dig at Garry and stated that he was kicked out of every gym and was sent directly to favelas.

“He was kicked out of multiple gyms & sent to the favelas”

Likewise, one states that Garry and Paddy Pimblet have the potential to be UFC stars but their arrogance is letting them down.

“Ian Garry & Paddy Pimblet had star potential but they got too full of themselves and now everyone hates them. They did it to themselves”

One of the fans also pointed out that the downfall of Oliveira had started.

Another fan stated that Garry is dying to stay in the spotlight.

Why was Ian Garry kicked out of Team Renegade’s gym?

Last month, Garry made public that he was dismissed from Team Renegade, Edwards’ gym. Garry asserted that his expulsion stemmed from perceived threats posed by his training presence, an accusation promptly dismissed by Team Renegade and Edwards’ coach.

Edwards recently revealed the original reason why Garry was kicked out of the gym. During an interview with TNT Sports, Edwards voiced- “The culture in the gym that we’re trying to build… Even though I’m a world champion, I still abide by the same rules as the amateurs. The difference with Ian was that, when he came in, he’d bring his camera with him and bring his girlfriend [wife] with him. He was late to the sessions. There was a lot going on, so the coaches and the team decided: ‘We wish you well on your journey, but your culture doesn’t fit our culture.”
