UFC head honcho Dana White is best known as the driving force behind the promotion’s meteoric rise, but his business ventures extend far beyond the octagon. His leadership transformed the UFC from a struggling promotion into a multi-billion-dollar empire. He has also pursued several other entrepreneurial endeavors, showcasing his sharp business instincts, and has a net worth of $500 million at the moment. One of White’s standout ventures is Power Slap, a slap-fighting league that he launched in 2023. Despite initial skepticism, the league has gained traction, proving White’s ability to turn unconventional ideas into profitable enterprises.
Dana White’s marketing expertise and UFC connections have helped Power Slap secure television deals and build a growing fan base. White is currently focused on starting a new boxing league and the fans are excited about it. Many including Logan Paul feel that the 55-year-old will fail to achieve the same kind of success he did with the UFC. However, Paul’s manager Nakisa Bidarian feels it’s worth a try with the reach the UFC head honcho has. Jed I. Goodman recently took his X account to share a clip of the entire conversation on the All the Smoke Fight podcast.
During the clip Bidarian shares why the UFC CEO is such a massive success and how failing in boxing will not be a huge deal. He said, “It’s fine he’s doing UFC he has a slap contest league. That’s going on. He’s pushing skateboarding which is great he has platforms he’s really an influencer at this point, right? It’s the truth right if you look at his platform and how he exercises his reach, and so he’s going to try and influence a new boxing league which is no problem.”

Dana White has long been vocal about his frustrations with boxing’s outdated business model, and he’s determined to change it. The UFC president has expressed interest in launching a new boxing league, aiming to bring structure, excitement, and credibility back to the sport. Meanwhile, while White is trying to enter the world of boxing, he received flak from Jake Paul for vetoing the now-defunct Conor McGregor vs Logan Paul spectacle that was supposed to happen in India later this year. Let’s take a closer look.

The saga of the exhibition boxing match between Conor McGregor and Logan Paul was short-lived. The Irishman boldly posted that he was in talks with the Ambani family to set up the fight with the WWE superstar, but the news wasn’t confirmed by the latter two parties. In fact, there was radio silence on the part of ‘The Maverick’. Amid all of this, Jake Paul reminded all parties that this fight wouldn’t be possible without Dana White’s blessings. And that’s exactly what happened. According to ‘The Notorious’, the reason the fight fell through (apart from Logan Paul keeping his mouth shut) was that “the UFC aren’t into it.”
And why would they be? After all, ‘Mystic Mac’ has two fights left on his UFC contract, and they set up a whole TUF season for his comeback, which ultimately resulted in his last-minute pull-out from UFC 303 in mid-2024. While Dana White was by Conor McGregor’s side when he fought Floyd Mayweather in 2017, we can safely assume that he’s not into this latest boxing venture between ‘The Notorious’ and ‘The Maverick’.
And now Jake Paul came out with his reason as to why Dana White didn’t get behind that fight despite both McGregor and the older Paul being employees of companies under TKO holdings. “Conor and Logan put together their fight by themselves. All the money and the hype would go through them, and that is a no-go for Dana.”, said ‘The Problem Child’ to The Daily Mail.

He continued, “He would have potentially considered it to be done if it wasn’t Logan, but Dana’s hate for Jake is the fuel that was needed to instantly say no. Dana doesn’t want the Paul brothers to benefit financially ever if it takes away from his own bottom line. The feud runs deep and will remain petty. It will be a cold day in hell before Dana and the Paul brothers are on the same page.”
Jake Paul thinks that Dana White has something against the Paul brothers, despite the UFC head honcho and Logan Paul’s past business relationship regarding the UFC and the energy drink PRIME. But what do you think? Why didn’t Dana approve of the exhibition boxing match in India? Let us know in the comments down below.
