Khamzat Chimaev’s, infamous weigh-in failure still haunts the fighter. However, it looks like Chimaev knows something the rest of us don’t. In a press conference, the fighter dropped some hints about his weight, and it couldn’t have been more cryptic.

A post on Instagram recently caught the attention of ‘Borz’ and he couldn’t help but laugh. The post had a clip of Chimaev talking about his weigh-in failure before the ambitious Nate Diaz fight. The fighters were meant to lock horns at UFC 279.

The two fighters were meant to go at it at welterweight but Chimaev couldn’t make it. So, he ended up picking up a win against Kevin Holland instead. That was a catchweight fight that Khamzat Chimaev won in the very first round within three minutes via a submission.

Clearly, the fans weren’t happy with the sudden changes in the card. In fact, some had interesting theories too. Insinuating that the whole thing was pre-planned is taking it a step too far. However, Chimaev’s comments regarding the incident made it all too suspicious.

Now, does this mean that there were some plans on the move, even if they weren’t Chimaev’s? Looking back on it all, the fighter couldn’t help but laugh.
