Earlier this month, Donald Trump claimed that if he returns to power after the November 5 elections, he will create a government efficiency commission, thus adopting a political idea presented to him by Musk, one of his closest allies in recent times. The Republican candidate then pointed out that the objective of that commission would be to identify ways to eliminate unnecessary spending.
Musk said that he would be happy to help in such a body, which he has baptized as the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE, in the acronym in English proposed by the tycoon). This caused panic among the people who definitely had their qualms about having the Tesla founder in a position of power. However, it seems like Musk has found an ally in Joe Rogan. How? Well, the podcaster has recently advocated in favor of the tycoon’s decision.
In the #2206 edition of the Joe Rogan Experience, the UFC commentator discussed Elon Musk and Donald Trump’s plan to form the Department of Government Efficiency. According to Rogan, he found the pushback to be “extraordinary.” According to the JRE host, people should be focusing on the things Elon Musk has achieved with his companies compared to the failed projects run by the government that had twice the budget. An example of this was the failure of NASA’s $42 billion program Artemis which went over budget yet had to be delayed by a year after aiming to launch this November. On the contrary, Elon Musk’s Space X has achieved more feats in half the budget, according to Rogan.

“Look at the difference between what Elon Musk has accomplished with SpaceX versus what NASA has been doing recently. SpaceX, for example, has pushed boundaries with innovations like Starlink, while NASA’s $42 billion program has yielded little to no results.” According to Rogan, this drive to outperform their competitors allows billion-dollar businesses to be strict against unnecessary bureaucracy or employees who slow progress.
This, according to Rogan, is one of the strongest arguments for letting private companies take over certain functions. Well, it surely looks like Elon Musk has the full support of Joe Rogan on this initiative. However, things can only come to fruition if Trump comes to power again after the November elections. But would Musk truly be efficient as a man in power?

Elon Musk might face a conflict of interest
Elon Musk’s businesses could interfere in this position with conflicts of interest, as they are regulated by several federal agencies. For example, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is one of SpaceX’s main customers. On the other hand, Tesla’s car sales and energy business are subsidized by federal tax credits, and X is regulated by the Federal Trade Commission.
