James Krause has recently resurfaced online. The former MMA fighter and coach was effectively banned from the UFC after an investigation was launched in 2022 due to concerns over fight ‘fixing’. The scrutiny came after the betting lines saw a massive shift as Krause’s fighter, Darrick Minner lost his fight against Shayilan Nuerdanbieke at UFC Vegas 64 in November 2022.
As such, the UFC and Dana White released Minner from his contract, banned Krause from the promotion, and indicated that fighters associated with him would not be allowed to compete in the UFC. But in a recent post on social media, Krause made a bold statement that revealed the consequences of his ‘ban’ from the UFC and promoted his new ‘coaching’ avenue.

According to a timeline reported by MMA Junkie, Krause drew scrutiny by the authorities after ‘unusual’ betting activity during the Minner vs Nuerdanbieke clash at UFC Vegas 64. The fight ended with Minner getting finished after apparently injuring himself in the first round. As per the reports online, the betting activity prompted investigations by U.S. Integrity and the UFC, leading to an announcement of a thorough review of the situation.
In December 2022, Krause and Minner faced indefinite suspensions from the Nevada Athletic Commission, with Krause allegedly working for an offshore online sportsbook. Prior to this, Dana White had proclaimed, “Do you know what the outcome of this is? Like, if I penalize them, you get cut. They’re gonna go to f*cking federal prison. Federal. F*cking. Prison. If you’re that f*cking stupid and somebody else wants to do it, knock yourself out.”
Now, in a recent post made on Facebook, James Krause has seemingly returned to social media as he made a stunning reveal by stating, “I’m in over 5 million dollars of debt and don’t lose a second of sleep over it. Because of this I learned a few things along the way…”

The post also contained a 3-step method that highlighted Krause’s approach to managing his money. Firstly, he highlighted the impact of inflation on money, stressing that allowing funds to sit idle results in their devaluation over time. Secondly, Krause emphasized the importance of cash flow, stating that all his properties generate surplus income after covering all expenses.
Lastly, he discussed the concept of leverage, explaining how he utilizes the equity in his properties to access additional funds or lines of credit for further investments. He ended the post by stating, “One of the many topics to discuss in my real estate coaching group. If I can help you in any way shoot me a DM!”

In conclusion, it appears that Krause is now attempting to reinvent himself as a real-estate ‘coach’. However, given his prior track record, it could raise more questions about his credibility and integrity as the debt confessions may be a consequence of his actions. And on an additional note, the UFC and Dana White have also taken measures to ensure something like the Krause incident doesn’t happen in the future!
UFC’s measures against ‘illegal’ betting after Krause incident
In 2023, after the massive uproar surrounding the James Krause incident, the UFC announced their partnership with ProhiBet, to address the concerns surrounding unethical and illegal betting. According to a statement by the UFC, “ProhiBet offers a comprehensive solution for monitoring compliance with these regulatory requirements via an encrypted decentralized cross-monitoring and notification platform.”

It was also revealed that athletes and their camps under the UFC banner were given a video presentation that described the protocols to prevent more such issues in the future. The video contained the following instructions, “An athlete who becomes aware or has knowledge of any incident that constitutes athlete misconduct must immediately notify UFC by contacting the UFC legal department, failure to report an incident will constitute conduct detrimental to the integrity of UFC and will be subject to sanctions under this UFC Athlete Conduct Policy.”
These measures serve as a reminder that the UFC and Dana White remain vigilant against misconduct and have been actively working to safeguard the integrity of the sport, ensuring fair competition for all athletes and maintaining the trust of fans worldwide.
