Conor McGregor has been out of action for the past two years. The former two-division champion has been recovering from the brutal broken leg he suffered in his loss against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021. But this was not the first time the two had met in the octagon.

The two had fought twice before, the first of which was won by the Irishman, and the second and third went to Poirier. And as the New Orleans native visits ‘Mac’s hometown of Dublin after the recent loss against Justin Gaethje for the BMF belt in July this year, McGregor has taken a shot at the Louisiana native.

On his Instagram Story, Conor McGregor shared a post from ‘MMA Pros Pick’s Instagram account. The post is a carousel post of images of McGregor, including one from his first match against Poirier at UFC 178 in September 2014. The Dubliner won the bout with ease through a stoppage in the first round.

After the match, Conor would say one of his most iconic lines. Having predicted before the fight that he would knock out Poirier in the first round and coming through on the prediction, the Dubliner declared himself to be “Mystic Mac” in the post-fight octagon interview. “So I said I’d knock him out in the first round and I knocked him out in the first round. You can call me Mystic Mac because I predict these things,” McGregor said in the interview.
