Joe Rogan returned to the UFC commentary booth for UFC 272: Covington vs Masvidal. This was his first appearance since UFC 270, as he missed out on the UFC 271 PPV on Super Bowl weekend. Fans were delighted to have him back calling fights, but they will remember his goof-up where he put a wager on something happening after the main event and lost.

During the main event live stream, while Colby Covington was on his way to win a unanimous decision over Masvidal, Rogan made a claim. He put a wager on ‘Chaos’ and ‘Gamebred’ hugging it out inside the octagon after having an absolute war for 25 minutes.

All eyes were on Rogan, as this was the second high-profile wager of the night. Earlier, Canadian Rap icon Drake also put $250k on Jorge Masvidal to win.

However, Rogan quickly saw that he was losing his wager, just like Drake, as the fighters continued to exchange verbal blows between the rounds.

Rogan realized it and soon enough he conveyed the same to Bisping: “The way this is ending, I feel like I’m gonna lose 20 bucks.”

Later, he added, “I owe you 20 bucks.”

Despite, probably, the most satisfactory win of his career, Covington was also glad that Joe Rogan was back in the UFC. He reciprocated the same by telling Rogan that it was a tremendous honor to stand beside him while he had the Stars and Stripes flag of the United States in his hands.

Besides Rogan and Masvidal, ‘Chaos’ also remembered another one of his ‘acquaintances’, i.e. Dustin Poirier. The UFC’s top-ranked welterweight fighter sent out a chilling challenge to his former ATT teammate and claimed he wanted him next.

Given the history Covington and Poirier share, and after losing his wager tonight, it is safe to say that Rogan may not put up another one if the UFC books Covington vs Poirier.
