The belief has been around for several years now, and it has been blamed for the losses of many top UFC fighters, including Conor McGregor and Jorge Masvidal. Recently, the ‘God’s Plan’ singer put up a whopping amount before Adesanya locked horns with Sean Strickland.

The majority strongly believed that ‘The Last Stylebender’ was going to win the bout, as he was a two-time middleweight champion. When it comes to Sean Strickland, it was his first-ever title clash. The upsetting results of the bout, where Adesanya lost via unanimous decision, were a huge shock to many, including Drake. After the Nigerian fighters’ shocking loss, even the MMA gym American Top Team began to believe in the Drake Curse. Now they have put forward a weird request for Drake.

When Israel Adesanya faced a unanimous decision loss against Strickland, Drake lost a whopping $500,000. This has strengthened the belief in the ‘Drake Curse’ among many. The list includes the popular mixed martial arts gym, American Top Team. Fighters like Dustin Poirier and Jorge Masvidal train here. Recently ATT took to X and wrote, “Dear Mr. @Drake Please don’t bet on any of our fighters. Respectfully #AmericanTopTeam #JustSayNo #GodsPlan #UFC.” One look at Drake’s recent bets and fans can see why they would not want the star to bet on their fighters.

Recently, Drake also lost $500,000 after betting on Aljamain Sterling before he fought Sean O’Malley at UFC 292 for the bantamweight title. The pop star lost not just in UFC fights but also in boxing matches. Before the bout between Nate Diaz and Jake Paul, Drake wagered $250,000 on the bout, and he lost that. Now, when Adesanya lost the bout in a most unexpected way, many indeed began to believe in the ‘Drake Curse.’
