Belal Muhammad has upgraded his trash-talking skills. The Palestinian champ is very well-known for his fighting prowess. However, talking trash about his opponents wasn’t his strongest suit. But all that changed when the newly crowned UFC welterweight champion took a dig at the former champion, Kamaru Usman.

Well, it was the ‘Nigerian NIghtmare’ who targeted Muhammad first. He took to X and wrote, “Alright enough of the nice guy… you were never chasing me Bum. You were barely in rankings when i dominated the division. FYI I have a win over Leon son.” Needless to say, Muhammad didn’t keep quiet and sent forth a quirky reply. 

‘Remember The Name’ responded by reminding Usman of his fight against Jorge Masvidal at UFC 251 and UFC 261, both of which turned in Usman’s favor. He also reminded the world of Usman’s fight with Colby Covington at UFC 268, which he deemed boring as it ended via decision. He wrote, “Dominated the division? u beat masvidal twice and went to cardio kickboxing war with colby twice (colby sucks). u were protected by ufc… now u can barely walk… your podcast sucks ..and ur part in black panther sucked.”

But the fight fans were left in utter shock by Muhammad’s response. However, the champ is expected to defend his title against Shavkat Rakhmonov, and doubts about Muhammad’s ability to retain the championship belt have begun to grow. Let’s see what the fighting community had to say.

When Muhammad talked about Usman’s role as a Naval Officer in the movie, ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, the fight fans believed it was indeed a personal jab at the former champ. One comment read, “the Black Panther dig was PERSONAL.” Nevertheless, Muhammad’s ability to talk trash about his rivals has definitely improved. And the fighting community took note of that. One of the fans wrote, “Belal is becoming such a good s**t talker I can’t even lie.” Meanwhile, another fan wrote, “Belal is more violent on the keyboard then in the fight lol.” 

Now, the fighting community has been expecting Muhammad to defend his belt against Rakhmonov. Unfortunately, the champ is not the top pick for this matchup. One comment read, “Belal doing all this talking just to get humbled by shavkat.” Another fan commented, “Belal getting into this just for Shavkat to come snatch the belt.”

But talks about the Palestinian fighter’s recent bout against Leon Edwards weren’t too far behind. ‘Rocky’ snatched the WW title from Usman as he defeated the ‘Nigerian Nightmare’ with a kick to the head. Usman got a chance to redeem himself against Edwards at UFC 286 but failed. However, Muhammad succeeded in defeating Edwards at UFC 304 and became the undisputed welterweight champion. Weighing in on that, a fan wrote, “I love Usman but Belal literally dominated the guy who headshotted you into oblivion.” Another fan added, “Belal did to Leon what Usman should be able to do, but didn’t.”
