When BKFC claimed to be ‘the world’s fastest growing combat sports promotion,’ they weren’t lying. Their expansion in Europe will witness the very first bare-knuckle fight in Italy. “Italy has a wealth of BKFC fans and we are thrilled to make our promotional debut on April 26 as we continue our international expansion,” said David Feldman (Founder and President of BKFC) in Feb. The rematch between Chris Camozzi and Lorenzo Hunt is going to be big; No wonder Conor McGregor, who is part owner of the promotion, is busy hyping it up.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Conor McGregor uploaded a story where he posted a video of BKFC promotion and emphasized the tickets for the marquee event are available for sale. Headlined by Chris Camozzi and Lorenzo Hunt, BKFC Florence will be live from Palazzo Wanny in Florence, Italy, on April 26. Unlike White, who prefers London, BKFC is quite dynamic in its expansion in the European market.

Interestingly, the UFC planned to visit Europe after Ilia Topuria claimed the featherweight title from Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 298. Following his victory, ‘El Matador’ called on the UFC CEO to host an event at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium in Spain. While White considered the idea, it never materialized.

Further, while BKFC will soon make a trip to Italy, the UFC has never been to the country. The reason could be the fact that they don’t have many big names from Italy, except for Marvin Vettori. But did you know that the MMA promotion still makes their presence known in the country?

Well in late 2024, Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) got the media rights for the UFC in Italy. As a part of this, from January 11, 2025 onwards, UFC fights have been available on WBD’s Discovery+ OTT service. This deal included fight nights, top-line numbered events, and also late prelims. The media giant also broadcasts UFC fights in other countries like the Netherlands and Spain.

But coming back to McGregor, the MMA star has come forward to assert that he will be returning to combat with BKFC. What is this all about?

“If you think I am up here, giving these speeches and leading these men into battle, and I won’t step in there myself, think again. For sure, Conor McGregor will fight in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, mark my words,” said ‘Mystic Mac’ in a conversation with the media at  BKFC Italy presser in Feb.

Is Conor McGregor the new king of combat sports, outshining Dana White's UFC empire?

Have an interesting take?

If Conor McGregor returned by fighting in BKFC, it would be major news, and the stocks for the $411 million organization would soar off the charts (but would UFC and Dana White be okay with that?). Well, we will have to wait and see what happens. But for now, a veteran has come forward to call out Dana White for injustice as he plans to partner up with BKFC.

Mark Hunt wants to join Conor McGregor’s BKFC soon…

Former UFC heavyweight, Mark Hunt and Dana White have a very sour relationship. Time and time again, the former UFC fighter has called out the UFC CEO for stringent contracts. Interestingly, the fighter has explained that there’s a high chance that David Feldman-led BKFC will take him under their banner, “I haven’t been in talks, I’ve just been speaking with Gabriel who’s a good friend of mine. And, you know, I did say to him I wanted to be a silent partner in this whole scenario,” said Hunt in a conversation with ‘From The Stands’

He further added, “But, you know, we’ll see where talks go from there. I just finished my lawsuit, I’m just waiting for it to be mandated into law and then, you know, be part of this. But like I said for me to walk out… in that stadium. I’ll be 51, it would be something amazing for me. And, you know, to end on that note in the career, you know. Not only being a part owner of the BKFC, but you know, being one of the wealthiest… fighter in history ever.”

Fairly recently, the former UFC fighter called out to the newly crowned BKFC heavyweight champ in January, Ben Rothwell and the champ is totally on board! “Yeah, let’s do it. You think I’m going to say no? Let’s f—— go motherf—–. Let’s knuckle up,” Rothwell said in a press conference in Jan. 2025. With all the cards in his favor, will the BKFC sign the fighter under their banner?
