When you reach the level of fame that Conor McGregor has achieved, almost everything you do becomes news. The Irishman is the biggest name in mixed martial arts history and undoubtedly the biggest draw in the UFC. He is also a former multi-division champion and the UFC’s first simultaneous double champ.
McGregor is currently shooting for his upcoming Hollywood film ‘Road House’. He looks to be in good spirits and in great shape. While talks of his return to the cage are heating up, McGregor seems to have picked a fight with an unlikely opponent.

Conor McGregor: God to Gorillas
The Irishman often compares himself to a gorilla. The Irishman has always maintained his physique in top shape and compares himself with gorillas because of that. He also has a gorilla tattoo on his chest. The crest of his gym, SBG Ireland, is also a jacked gorilla.
Recently, McGregor shared an image of him from the set of ‘Road House’. McGregor was in shorts and the make-up artists were prepping him. Unsurprisingly, ‘The Notorious’ one used this opportunity to point out his great physical shape.

In the caption, McGregor said, “God shines on us all , thank you God. I am a God to Gorillas.” He continued McGregor posted an edited version of the same image on his Instagram story, replacing himself with a gorilla.
In subsequent stories, McGregor gloated that he would “box that gorilla round handy” and that he himself was “a gorilla with a computer brain” and “too smart for him[the gorilla].”
McGregor was probably just having some fun on social media. He took the stories down moments after they were posted. The Irishman does this often with tweets as well. McGregor being McGregor, fans can expect a lot more bizarre incidents like this.
McGregor to return at welterweight?
‘The Notorious’ looks almost completely recovered from his horrific leg injury. He snapped his left shin bone in an unfortunate ending to his trilogy fight against rival Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. McGregor has been on the sidelines ever since. In a recent Q&A with fans on Twitter, McGregor announced his return will be at welterweight.

McGregor looks seriously jacked in all his recent social media pictures. ‘Mystic Mac’ may have put on the weight to move up a division. If he ends up in welterweight, there are exciting match-ups there for him, like Jorge Masvidal. He has previously floated the idea of fighting contenders from lightweight at welterweight to avoid a draining weight cut. Based on his Twitter response, he seems excited to give it a shot at welterweight.
