Kamaru Usman’s aspiration is to reclaim the championship before he retires, and this vision could materialize if he secures a victory against Khamzat Chimaev in their upcoming bout. Dana White has asserted that the victor of this match will earn the opportunity to challenge Sean Strickland for the title.

Regardless, his aspirations to become a champion have a roadblock- his knee. It’s no secret that Usman struggles with a painful knee problem that flares up at times. During his recent encounter with Justin Gaethje, it appeared that his knee might have been injured. Critics and the online community even speculated about hearing a popping sound. However, both Gaethje and Usman later clarified the situation.

When asked about the popping noise by a media personality Gaethje refuted the claims and added that there was no popping noise. Even Usman took to X

(formerly Twitter) to disregard the claims made against him.

That was a close one from Usman and it felt as if Dana White’s dream for UFC 294 was totally tarnished.
