“He is not normal.” This is what Michael ‘Venom’ Page said about a certain Chechen warrior after seeing him fight close. Khamzat Chimaev might have been sick from his previous fight with Whittaker and had to withdraw, but he proved his prowess, yet again after defeating Robert Whittaker at UFC 308. The Aussie has even complimented the Chimaev’s expertise, and even, Tom Aspinall and Joe Rogan have praised his comeback.
It is undoubtedly true that Chimaev is a beast inside the octagon and, while training, he fell sick because of his rigorous high-intensity training. Many pundits in the UFC, including ‘Venom’, were in awe of his power and spoke about the same. Michael Page had even trained with the middleweight star and spoke about how deadly he could be, especially after changing his training strategy to regulate his health.
Red Corner MMA posted a video clip on Instagram where ‘Venom’ gushed about Chimaev’s power. He said, “He did not seem like he is normally a crash Bandicoot. Round one like just non-stop going crazy. This time, he seemed more composed. He’s in positions, he is picking his shots. Like, Khamzat, that could go five rounds. That’s dangerous for anybody in that division. That Khamzat there it was impressive to see his growth and intelligence in that fight.”

He also mentioned how if Chimaev displayed the same balance in his fight with Usman, he would have had a different outcome. He did win against Usman at UFC 294.

Yet, the battle would have been more intense for the 14x fight winner. The former Bellator star has seen firsthand how brutal Chimaev can be, but Sharaputdin Magomedov has witnessed the Chechen’s beastly force, albeit in a different scenario.
Shara Bullet and Khamzat Chimaev got into a street brawl
Moscow metro station just witnessed a brawl between two iconic fighters from UFC. In a scene straight out of an action movie, Shara ‘Bullet’ and Khamzat Chimaev found themselves at odds with four locals blocking their path. What started as a simple shoulder check escalated rapidly and, one local, grabbed Shara’s arm and taunted him. “Let’s go outside, you’ll find out,” and, at that point, the gloves metaphorically came off.

“We noticed how loud and obnoxious they were being,” Shara explained to a Russian interviewer. “When we got closer to the doors, they didn’t even look like they were going to move to let us pass, so I shoulder-checked one of them. And we got going, and all of a sudden I heard someone whistling behind us like calling us. We turned around…. they started talking in a disrespectful tone and one grabbed me by my arm trying to pull me toward himself… So, at this point we both attacked them. The brawl broke out, two of them ended up kind of knocked out and the others ran out.”
The two individuals used to exchange insults, but this incident completely altered their relationship. The middleweight star and Chimaev protected each other from the public and became mutual friends. So, what do you think about Chimaev’s power? Tell us in your comments below.
