During a recent appearance on the ‘Joe Rogan Experience’, Gary Brecka revealed to Joe Rogan that Dana White was in a dire medical state. He mentioned that the 54-year-old had one of the highest levels of the amino acid homocysteine he’d ever seen. Moreover, it could have led to a multitude of diseases. Brecka said, “In his case [Dana White], he had one of the highest levels of homocysteine that I’ve personally ever seen and our clinical team.”

Furthermore, he mentioned that high levels of homocysteine could lead to elevated blood pressure. As such, he also mentioned what levels of blood pressure are good and what levels are bad. “120 over 70, 120 over 80 [is a good level for blood pressure]. 130, 140, 150 [and] 160 [is high blood pressure]. 140, 150 starts to get dangerous,” said Gary Brecka.

Brecka revealed that such elevated high blood pressures act like silent killers. Before people could realize what’s happening with their bodies, they meet with fatal consequences. Gary Brecka further stated, “It’s a silent killer. You don’t feel it. You think you’d feel high blood pressure, but very often it’s a silent killer because you don’t feel it.”

Not only that, but Dana White could have suddenly collapsed due to the high levels of homocysteine. Sudden death is also one of the most frequent symptoms of elevated blood pressure as well. As such, Brecka said that he and his team often take steps to check the level of homocysteine in their patients’ bodies.

“One of the first primary symptoms [of high blood pressure] is sudden death, right? So, we often put people on hypertensive medication before we look at whether or not they have high levels of homocysteine,” Gary Brecka added. Moreover, when it comes to Dana White, they took some extensive steps to cater to his medical situation.

The UFC CEO had his blood pressure checked 2-3 times a day

Gary Brecka revealed that when he first met Dana White, the 54-year-old promoter’s blood levels used to measure up to 160. It was abnormally high. “His [Dana White’s] blood pressure was through the roof. I think he was 160 over 110. I wanna say it was very high,” said Brecka. He had already mentioned that such levels could prove to be lethally dangerous.

To monitor the status of Dana White’s health, they often checked his blood pressure more than a couple of times every day. This was the routine. Moreover, White would always have elevated blood pressure even though he was on medication. “Our team was taking his blood pressure two or three times a day seven days a week and it was consistently very elevated even though he was on blood pressure medication,” Gary Brecka added.
