Conor McGregor has amassed a tremendous amount of wealth, mainly because of his success in the combat sports arena and also because of his thriving business ventures and sponsorship deals. Never one to shy away from boasting about his possessions, the Dubliner recently took his Instagram to share a picture of his watch worth $20,000.00. The timepiece in question was the Rolex Day Date in Gold with Onyx Dial.

However, this is not the only priced item the Dubliner owns. Before his fight with Dustin Poirier at UFC 257, the 35-year-old bought a Jacob & Co’s Astronomia Tourbillon Baguette worth over a million dollars. He also owns The Yacht-Master 2, a 44mm size face made of pure gold watch worth $50,000. While McGregor currently owns all these luxurious watches, this was not the case earlier. He recently made an appearance on YouTube for GQ Sports and shared a story that might be hard to believe in hindsight.

The 35-year-old recently appeared at GQ Sports for a segment to discuss the ten things he could not live without. While he did mention his fighting gears, he made sure he pointed out his watches as well. However, he surprised everyone when he mentioned he used to wear fake watches in press conferences before making it big in the UFC. It’s hard to believe that a man who currently owns his whiskey brand, Proper Number Twelve, and also flaunts his pub, The Black Forge, once used to wear fake watches.

He said, I’ve got many great watches. This one in particular is very special because it comes from an Irish jeweler named Weir and Sons, which is one of the most known jewelers in Ireland. And this watch is a Patek Philippe, which is a very exclusive watchmaker. They made this watch specifically for Weird and Sons jewelers in Ireland. And it’s got the Irish colors. There’s only 25 of them made. And you know I had to get it. You ever hear this, this term, you got to fake it till you make it? Before anything, I was getting the fake ones. I was rocking the fake ones like this, but proud.”
