In a thrilling battle, Dern showcased her remarkable skills, earning a hard-fought victory over Hill. Mackenzie Dern reveals her personal struggles

Speaking on ‘The MMA Hour’ show with Ariel Helwani, Dern opened up about her struggles in these tough times. She revealed that she had almost thought of stepping out of the fight in the initial months of training camps. However, Dern accepted her life situation, chose to focus on her career and inspire more people on her way ahead.

“I don’t have anything to hide. It’s all part of my life. It’s not just me, tonnes of people go through problems. If I can inspire people and show people that I can. I thought about getting out of the fight the first month, but I was like, no let’s do it.”

The fighter also shed light on the difficulties she encountered within the justice system while navigating her divorce proceedings. As a mother and a professional athlete, Dern found herself having to defend her parenting choices and prove that she was not neglectful.

“And this whole justice system, I don’t know, kind of being like the woman on the side of this whole thing happening. I’m going through this divorce for camp and I’m having to prove and defend myself in front of the justice system that I’m not a negligent mom because I’m I work and I’m not a negligent mom because I take my daughter to train with me when she’s not at school.”
