UFC light heavyweight fighter Magomed Ankalaev issued a statement on Instagram concerning the fight against Jan Blachowicz; which ended in a draw at UFC 282. Many thought that fight would end with Ankalaev coming out on top as the new UFC light heavyweight Champion. But the judges decided to rule it out as a draw. Ankalaev spoke to commentator Joe Rogan in the post-fight interview and seemed disappointed that he didn’t win the match.

His opponent, Blachowicz, however, interrupted the interview; and expressed his opinion that the Russian should have won in a show of sportsmanship.

Magomed Ankalaev breaks the silence in an Instagram post:

Magomed Ankalaev expressed his thoughts on the fight in a post on Instagram. The Russian native has promised to become the UFC light heavyweight champion. Ankalaev also wrote that he would like to finish the fight instead of letting the judges decide the outcome.

Ankalaev, in his Instagram post, talked about he had worked really hard for the title match at UFC 282. However, to everyone’s disappointment could not attain it. He wrote, “Hello to all. It’s hard to describe with words the feelings I feel these days. My team and I have been working towards this goal for many years. Probably this is how my life path is arranged, that nothing is easy for me, but I always know where and why I’m going.

He further stated that he sees a positive side in everything that happens. Also promised his fans that the next time he probably won’t even need the judges to decide the result for him. And mentioned that he’ll finish his opponent all by himself; he continued, “I know and believe that there is good in everything and this is no exception. I will not look for the guilty, I will prove it by case and will do everything to win this belt without giving the judges the opportunity to make decisions.

He further concluded by thanking each of his fans and well-wishers by saying that their love means much to him rather than something written on a piece of paper; and promised his fans that the next time they see him, he will be a better and the best version of himself and will be leaving no stone unturned to achieve his dreams; “I receive a huge number of calls, messages with words of support to my address, for which I want to say thank you very much to everyone who was sick and worried! For me, the recognition of your hearts is much more important than what is written on paper.I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who is involved in my journey in this sport. The goal has no expiration date and we will definitely come back better and stronger!”

Magomed Ankalaev was on an undefeated win streak with nine wins before his draw to Jan Blachowicz. He had also defeated fighters like Volkan Oezdemir and Thiago Santos, among others, to earn some important wins on his way to fight for the vacant welterweight title at UFC 282.
