Jorge Masvidal appeared in a recent episode of AEW. The UFC’s BMF champion executed his baddest move to date on none other than pro-wrestling legend Chris Jericho. ‘Y2J’ received the infamous flying knee right to his jaw from ‘Gamebred’. Needless to say, a certain Ben Askren received the same shot at UFC 239 in 2019.
Masvidal recorded the fastest knockout in UFC history when he put an end to Askren’s undefeated professional MMA record at UFC 239. A flying knee left ‘Funky’ unconscious. Masvidal taunted the former ONE FC and Bellator champion by tapping beside him. He seemingly executed the exact same sequence on Jericho.

It remains to be seen how the exact scene played out when the actual episode airs. But Masvidal is no doubt enjoying his time off from the Octagon. He last competed at UFC 261 and suffered a brutal knockout loss to Kamaru Usman. It was the first time in his career Masvidal had been stopped by strikes.
What’s next for Jorge Masvidal in the UFC?
Masvidal remains one of the biggest draws in the UFC. However, he is probably a bit vulnerable in his career at the moment. Known as a supreme striker and a fighter with a granite chin, his confidence must have taken a deep hit after suffering such a brutal loss in his last fight. Other fighters will want to make the best of this opportunity, as this might seem to be an ideal time to beat him.

But Masvidal is a born fighter. Despite his loss, one can assume he will be ready to take on anybody that the UFC wants him to fight. That’s what he has done throughout his career to reach this point.
A Leon Edwards fight was something the UFC was interested in. However, ‘Rocky’ doesn’t want any part of that. So, who Masvidal takes on next remains to be seen. But he is already rehearsing his moves, as seen in the recent footage.
