Jorge Masvidal is about to face Nate Diaz today and ahead of the fight the former BMF champion appeared in several interviews. He was released by UFC after being defeated by Gilburt Burns in 2023, but the sassy star of UFC is back to fight in boxing and he is not quiet about anything, it seems! He even took a jibe at Conor McGregor, who withdrew from a bout against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 at the last moment because of a toe injury.
He recently spoke about Conor McGregor and labeled him as a “diva” and a “coward”! Is he riling ‘The Notorious’ up for the hopes of a bout with him?

Masvidal and McGregor were once rumored to be gearing up for a highly anticipated PPV match in UFC, but as per the 39-year-old, the ‘Mystic Mac’ did not accept the challenge. He also said that if the challenge came now, McGregor would again reject it. During an interview with The Sun Sport, Jorge Masvidal made big claims about how a fight against McGregor can break all the records but the chances of it happening are slim.
“This fight has the potential to break all types of pay-per-view records and be massive. But Conor would not accept this fight before he got extra ** mode and extra diva mode as he had always told the UFC won’t fight me to know when I had the BMF belt,” claimed Masvidal. He also stated that McGregor was afraid to face him and since he has pulled out of fights so often, especially the Chandler one, he will not fight Masvidal.
The Olympic wrestler pointed out, “This is not the first time this fight falls apart you know. I think it’s the second or third time so that’s a guy he is convinced that he could beat. You can’t get him in the ring for a guy like me that he has legitimate fear deep down inside for me.” He mentioned how, when he broke the record, his physique was huge and that McGregor could not compete with him. The Miami born argued that the fight between him and McGregor would sell more than Chandler vs McGregor.
Masvidal is scheduled to have a boxing match with Nate Diaz and he has become increasingly personal with this fight. He even commented on Diaz and said that his opponent’s punch in their previous bout was like a mosquito bite for him. On the other hand, Diaz was also not sitting silently and threw hands on Masvidal’s team.

Nate Diaz’s team attacked Jorge Masvidal’s team
The whole brawl started when Masvidal and Diaz were in Anaheim for the press conference before their fight. ‘Gamebred’ had already started making comments about ‘The Stockton Slugger’ for not promoting their fight properly. Diaz was in a foul mood about the promotional event and wanted to leave the press conference as soon as possible.
When he was about to leave the event, the management stopped him to return for a face-off. He did agree to the face-off and got up on stage, but left the venue before meeting Masvidal. Then the duo started exchanging some verbal jibes at each other and soon enough both of their teams started a brawl and it was pretty intense, so much so that one of Masvidal’s teammates was injured. Jorge Capetillo, Masvidal’s coach, had thrown a bunch of his own towards Diaz’s team. After the fight had settled down, it was revealed that the coach was injured.

The 39-year-old seemed unimpressed by the happenings and thus issued a warning to his opponent. “They went after the most mature dude. He’s like a father, like an uncle. They went after him. They ain’t go after a young buck. My coach is in his mid-40s and isn’t a professional fighter, getting attacked by a professional fighter and one other guy and being on the ground and getting kicked and punched, to me, you guys are cowards. It’s f—ing coward shit,” Masvidal said in an interaction with CBS.
