The “Suga” Sean O’Malley is all up in the limelight after becoming the main attraction at Las Vegas Sphere’s “one-in-a-lifetime” event UFC 306 on September 14. In the biggest fight of the night, Suga takes on Merab Dvalishvili on the Mexican Independence Day special. And it surely is all set to be unlike any other major event that the MMA world has ever seen. At least that’s what O’Malley is hoping for as he stirs the pot of brewing rivalry between the two MMA fighters.
However, it won’t be an easy task, since the Georgian contender is on a 10-fight win streak with an MMA record of 17-4, making him a merited opponent for the 18-1-1 O’Malley. However, according to the champion, he is going to end the fight with a win. In fact, he is so confident that he has dropped a major warning for the Georgian on his Instagram. Uploading a video of himself sitting on the sofa and talking on the phone while also practicing his strikes simultaneously, O’Malley dropped a major update for Merab Dvalishvili in the captions.
O’Malley revealed that he has been wreaking havoc in his training by scoring takedowns while also practicing his reflexes by scoring a whopping 32 kills in resurgence. In addition to this, he has also been talking to Chael Sonnen. He wrote, “Merab is absolutely in trouble. I’m so dialed rn. Dropped 32 kills in resurgence the other day. Scored a TD with @k1. Talkin to uncle Chael about YouTube while hitting mits with the greatest mind in mma @timwelchmt. 11 days out.”

Suga’s previous title defense was against none other than Marlon “Chito” Vera at UFC 299 back in May. The rematch between the two fierce warriors ended with a one-sided dominant win for O’Malley as he won all five rounds as per the Judges’ scorecards. So he surely is looking confident for his next challenge as well. One where he would be looking to end things as early as possible to mark his dominance as the Bantamweight champion.

However, Dvalishvili too will try his best to stay wary of all the mind games that O’Malley is trying to play with him. Since we all know that masters like Conor McGregor have often achieved results through all the major trash-talking. But it seems like Dvalishvili would be able to face it all. Especially considering he too shared a video that shows how carefree he is about having O’Malley as his opponent.
The Georgian plays his tricks on O’Malley
It seems like the Georgian contender is undeterred by O’Malley’s tactics. Instead, Dvalishvili is playing mind games of his own against Suga. While the Bantamweight champion expects Dvalishvili to get cold feet, the Georgian was recently spotted warming himself up with some alcohol in a Mexican Bar instead.

While O’Malley is planning and implementing his strategy to put Dvalishvili off his game, the contender is batting no eye and instead, enjoying his time with a drink. But one thing is for sure, fans can surely expect a high-intensity bout between the two. All the mocking will surely get to their head once they start exchanging punches. And what better than an electrifying showdown at the Las Vegas Sphere after all?
What do you think? Will the mind games work in favor of O’Malley and help him retain his title against the Georgian? Or will Dvalishvili be able to counter and be crowned the new champion? Let us know in the comments.
