In an era where news spreads quickly through various channels, fact-checking has become increasingly important. However, the UFC boss feels this factor is missing from present-day reporting. ‘Borz’ had a glorious first-round submission victory against Kevin Holland in September 2022. Ever since then, he has not signed any contracts. According to White, he is busy with his personal life. However, the Swedish fighters claimed that he was ready to fight. While the confusion was going on, a media outlet reported that Chimaev had unfollowed Dana White and UFC matchmakers Sean Shelby and Mick Maynard on social media. It was also reported that he unfollowed Darren Till. While there is no proof to prove the same, many still believe that he actually unfollowed them on Twitter.

Under the post, White wrote, “This is the “media”. I could literally do this every day with almost every story that’s written. Everything these people write is total and absolute bullsh*t.“That was not the end, it was followed by a post in which White also shared a screenshot of Chimaev and him in a video call where they were both smiling.

Chimaev messed up the UFC’s business by missing weight at the UFC 279 weigh-in. ‘Borz’ was scheduled to fight against Nate Diaz. However, the fight didn’t come to fruition, as Chimaev weighed 7.5 pounds overweight. Following this cancellation of the bout, he fought against Kevin Holland.
However, ever since he missed weight, the MMA world has begun to consider him an irresponsible fighter. Many speculate that this is one of the reasons he is not getting any contracts. Moreover, Chimaev called out a number of big fighters from the UFC. None of these fights came to fruition.
